still think Heather abused him...

Me too. I never really liked her, specially compared to the Lovely Linda. Paul-Linda was the most beautiful marriage ever.

Mills: 'I've Had Worse Press Than A Paedophile'

Heather Mills has launched a fierce attack on the press, comparing her treatment at the hands of the media with that of Kate McCann and Princess Diana.

Sir Paul McCartney's estranged wife said she had been "close to suicide" over the coverage she received.

The 39-year-old is locked in a bitter divorce battle with the former Beatle. The couple have a four-year-old daughter, Beatrice.

Ms Mills-McCartney launched her attack on the nation's press in a television interview, saying she had been "close to suicide" and had received death threats.

Speaking on GMTV, she accused a "certain corner" of feeding spin to the media to smear her - and called on the public to stop buying tabloid newspapers.

At one point she appeared to break down, later apologising for becoming upset and saying: "What are we doing as a nation buying these newspapers?

"We need to force a change as a responsible nation."

She said she had launched a petition at the European Parliament to strengthen the law against "a specific portion" of the media.

Tearfully she added: "They make up such lies. They've called me a whore, a golddigger, a fantasist, a liar, the most unbelievably hurtful things - and I've stayed quiet for my daughter.

"But my daughter. We've had death threats, I've been close to suicide. I'm so upset about this. I've had worse press than a paedophile or a murderer, and I've done nothing but charity for 20 years."

She refuted suggestions that she had "used the press", answering: "I haven't used the press for anything but my charity."

She went on: "Look what they're doing to the McCanns. The woman has lost, and the poor father, have lost their daughter. What are we doing as a nation?

"What are we doing persecuting a woman that is devastated behind closed doors and trying to hold it together, as I have for 18 months."

Mills also likened herself to Diana, Princess of Wales, saying they had both been hounded by the media.

Quite what she expects is beyond me. She's done nothing but mouth off, and court the press ever since the split. This is a classic example of someone wanting to have their cake and eat it! Macca has been pretty stupid too. He should have settled with her a long time ago; cut his losses.

Mills is right about the press: I consider her a golddigger, based on what I read. Is she really darling and nice? She might be, but I haven't seen it. I've seen anger and spite that spews out of almost everyone when they're divorcing. I've seen wanting to "get even" for real or imagined transgressions. It all comes with the territory, and is not particularly newsworthy to me. If it weren't for these forums, I'd never read anything about it.

I was about to blast you, Paul, for your comment about Macca being stupid. It's a divorce; no one is smart during a divorce, and they need their time to work through their issues. But then I thought, well, this is Macca we're talking about, and he has a driving need to win. So it could be that his drive to win has led him to stretch this out longer than necessary, because there's no way he's going to let that (I'll use my favorite term) "golddigger" get away with her huge settlement. No way! He'll fight it!

I consulted a very wise attorney during my divorce. He was the expensive one, my fallback in case I needed to pull out the big guns. It turned out I didn't need him; my husband became rational and we settled quite easily once the dust settled. Anyway, this guy said to me, "Stop worrying about who gets what. You're both going to get a lot more stuff. What you need to take care of now is your emotional health." It was the most liberating thing to hear, because most of the sticking points in a divorce revolve around dividing things up. If you walk away, you can get on with it. But until that point, you're still mired.

He should have realised that she wouldn't go quietly. And I expect his laywers would have told him to settle quickly. I have little sympathy.

She has deliberately courted the British Press, knowing full well what they are like. It of course means that she can justify her 'woe is me' persona, when they go too far. It's a game she's playing very well.

I was pretty lucky with my last divorce. We had no problems dividing possessions. If their was something we both wanted we tossed a coin for it! My problems started later. But that's another story!

You're quite right. If I got this advice, I'm sure Macca did as well. We're back to that need to win, which I think is Paul's peculiar manifestation of aging.

I agree she's playing the game well, but will anyone believe the 'woe is me' bit? Granted, people's memories are appallingly short, but this is "entertainment" so they might remember some of her earlier salvos.

i agree 100%

"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."

"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."

Smart move by Paul:
Quoted Text

Sir Paul McCartney is set to apply for full custody of his daughter with estranged wife Heather Mills.

The Beatles legend - who split from Heather in May 2006 after a four-year marriage - is said to be worried about four-year-old Beatrice after Heather sensationally claimed Paul has done nothing to protect them from death threats in a series of TV interviews.

A source said: "Paul fears Heather has lost the plot and needs help. She claimed to the world her life was at risk and he is understandably concerned about the safety of his daughter.

"Going for full custody is a last resort but he is really scared for his child. He doesn't feel he has a choice. He also is worried about her being psychologically damaged by their increasingly public divorce."

Paul allegedly contacted his lawyers on Friday (02.11.07) to prepare his case for full custody, after a heated meeting with Heather.

The musician was reportedly outraged when Heather, 39, demanded he hand over his beloved £12 million Peasmarsh estate in their divorce settlement because it has a state-of-the-art security system.

He was also said to be saddened by the former model's threats to "tell the world the truth" about their failed marriage.

Last week, Heather claimed she was suicidal, likened herself to the late Princess Diana, blamed Paul for the breakdown of their marriage, said he refused to give her a "quick and gentle" divorce and branded his daughter Stella "evil".

Paul, 65, fears Heather has turned Beatrice against her fashion designer sister, after she hid when Stella visited recently.

The source added: "Beatrice called Stella, 'That bad woman,' and told Paul, 'Mummy is so sad.' "

Meanwhile, Heather claims she has secret recordings of Paul and Stella mocking her false limb.

Heather, who lost her left leg below the knee following a motorbike accident in 1993, reportedly played the tape to Paul and threatened to reveal other taped conversations unless he agrees he was to blame for the failure of their marriage.
