my contribution to world peace  

OK... My name is Joost ('oost' sounds not as in boost, it rhymes with ghost) and I live in a small town in the Netherlands somewhere between the city of Eindhoven and the Belgian border.

I'm a vegetarian because I believe that animals have the right to live and we don't have the right to take their lives for our own pleasure.

I'm 28 and I work as a graphic designer and desktop publisher for a company that makes bed textiles and bean bags. I design packagings, brochures, advertisements, catalogues and visuals and pretty much everything else they need.

Besides that I write for a rock magazine, I do interviews and write CD, DVD and concert reviews, mostly in the melodic punk rock genre.

I play guitar and bass and I can also play the drums a little bit. I've played in a few punk and hardcore bands, currently I play lead guitar in a melodic punk rock band. We recorded an album earlier this year which will hopefully be out next month. This will be my 7th official release (so far I have three CDs and three 7" EPs out).

I also record my own acoustic songs at home on my portable home recording studio machine thing and I really hope I can release that stuff too someday.

My favorite band is the Beach Boys and I also love The Beatles, No Use For A Name, Shelter, Ignite, Elliott Smith, Cat Stevens, Lagwagon, The Doors, Bad Religion and many, many others.

In my spare time I like to go to concerts, rock festivals and soccer matches (PSV - Galatasaray tomorrow!). I also play soccer myself.

Some of my other interests are traveling, movies, ghost stories and record collecting. I have 2,000 CDs, 500 records and 400 DVDs at the moment.

I currently work for a church for 4 years. i answer phones 3 days a week, and work the grounds during vacations.

besides that, i run a computer business in my spare time. I also am kinda in charge of a radio. (i'm one of two djs...we had more, but they mostly died)

I play drums, kinda guitar, kinda keyboard. rather just play around with them than actually bother learning something.

Favorite bands are Beatles, U2, Who, Pink Floyd, Doors, Johnny Cash, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, and anything else from the 60s-80s
