Not that the Democrats are that much better than the Republicans... But Dubya doesn't like this, which automatically makes it a good thing.
You don't know how wrong you are in this case. You and I agree on most everything,(espeacially in our hatred of bush) but this. As someone who votes with his wallet and has to consider which party is more fiscally favorable to the working class like myself, the incoming Democrats look like a pool of water in the middle of the Sahara.

I consider myself a socialist so I don't vote with my wallet.

If you lived here in the states, you would. There's not Socialism here, it's everyone for themselves. You would have to discern which politician and what party held your best interets and proposed the best policies for you and your family. Its not always about foreign policy, foreign relations, and the war in Iraq to liberate the oil wells. I just hope the Democrats don't screw up and run a "snow ball in hell's chance" canidate in 08 for president.
senators and reps are elected every 6 years and 1/3 gets elected every 2 years. since bush cant do anything without approval of congress, and vice versa, with congress siding against the president, they can theoretically override anything the president starts and can even remove members of the administration. so with the house and senate against the president, hes got a snowballs chance of getting anything passed by congress
"if asking, begging and pleading doesn't work, always go with a song and dance number."

And Bush can use his veto power. It's just gonna be gridlocked. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Anyway, this forces Bush to at least try to work at a bipartisan level. Both Clinton and Regan had this to deal with this, but the country wasn't as divided then and the issues weren't as huge as they are now. It should at least be interesting.
