More Bond/Beatle stuff, from: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058182/triviaFrom A Hard Days Night "Ringo Starr is invited to "Le Cercle" gambling club, the same club where James Bond makes his first appearance in Dr. No (1962). Another James Bond connection is the song, "This Boy" (a.k.a. "Ringo's Theme"), an instrumental version of which was used in the film to accompany Ringo's solo scene. The guitarist was Vic Flick, who previously played on "The James Bond Theme" from Dr. No (1962)." And I read somewhere that the styling for Help! (movie) was based on the Bond movies. It certainly has that look about it. (sorry if this is old news) |

.....and they objectify women.
Men too. That's what makes them so much fun! "I admire your courage Miss...?" "Trench, Sylvia Trench. I admire your luck Mr...?" "Bond, James Bond." |

they objectify women.
Not just women. He kills people by the dozens without losing any sleep over it. So the movies objectify men as well, cause he shoots them like they're objects. |

I don't really like James Bond movies. I think they're kind of run-of-the-mill action flicks
I completely understand where you are coming from, and I think the Bond series after a while became a tired formula - but the early Connery films are exceptional film-making - real art. I went to see Casino Royale last night and thought it was a brave new step for the Bond franchise. Craig was brilliant - and the action scenes were creatively refreshing. By far the best bit in my opinion was the central poker game. The Aston Martin DB(five) .... superb. Oh, and anyone else think for a twelveA it was a tad violent? (Also - watch when Bond is at the airport - someone in the check in queue looks rather familiar...) |

Never forgive him for his "as bad as listening to The Beatles without earmuffs" line though. |

Well, Bond was a little preoccupied at the time. I'm sure he didn't mean it. That second one OK, Bobber? |

I'm happy to hear that. Thanks for the review, Indica.

P ussy Galore: What happened? Where's Goldfinger? James Bond: Playing his golden harp
Classic.
Bond: Weren't you a blonde when I came in? Tiffany: Could be. Bond: I tend to notice little things like that, whether a girl is a blonde or a brunette. Tiffany: And which do you prefer? Bond: Oh, providing the collars and cuffs match... Plenty: Hi, I'm Plenty. Bond: (glancing downward) But of course you are. Plenty: Plenty O'Toole. Bond: Named after your father perhaps? Yet some more classics! |
