I want to revive an idea that was started awhile ago (i believe it was the "Down and Out" thread which has been lost to the bowels of the forum) and have a member crisis support thread for anyone going through a tough time and just want to talk enough. that being said, i would like anyone that views this to respect the members and not use this to threaten or bring up in other threads.
so please, if you need to talk about something. anything, i ask that you post it here if you want.
matt.
also, any mod reading this, would you be so kind as to stick this so that it doesnt get lost in the bowels of the forum. thanks |

I personally would not want to share my crisis on a thread like this. If someone else wants to stick it cool but i don't think peoples crisis are there to be publically addressed in this manner.
No offence Somedude but teenage break-ups and bereavment are two very different things. There is always the PM option or something that someone in crisis can start up themselves.
I don't fully dis-agree with having the thread but to make it sticky on permanent reminder may not be healthy for all. |

Yeah it's a nice cool idea, but i would'nt really share anything really personal on the internet, and i spose it's the same with you lot. But i don't disagree with it, and if any one wants to go ahead. |

eh, this idea worked out on another forum where a member suddenly committed suicide, so, in the hopes of preventing another, we came up with this to help those that just wanna talk.
and, apple beatle, this wasnt in response to larry's recent thread nor my "down and out" one. this is was something that worked on another forum, and since we're all relatively close and open on here, i thought we could have one here. its like one of those "what happens here, stays here" so we couldnt use this later on. but whatever.
i respect those that dont want to post here, but this at least leaves the option open for those that want to talk to someone but are afraid of talking with their parents or whomever. |

I agree with the sentiments Somedude, just not the 'stickiness.' What happens on here is broadcast on here for the world to see, no? Your relying on trust, when any whacko could build up quite a profile of you. Thats down to an individual to decide before they post is all I'm getting at. Some people can be triggered into sadness by reading problems amd some people will benefit but this is primarily a Beatle forum no? Hence me stickiness about the sticky. heheh. Thought of those angles? lol. (Sorry, just being pedantic. ) Did not mean to bring any negativity at all. It's certainly not up to me and those that would benefit by sharing their problems this way should. No need for the 'whatever' treatment nipper and yes regards Larry I thought your timing and taste were a bit poor but I'm sure best intended. Peace |

Teenage angst? I've got fuckin' teenage angst up the yin yang.
My best male friend (those of you who read the lyrics thread know who I'm talking about) just starting going out with another close friend of mine. They're just soooooo cute together and they're even going to the Christmas Ball together. Y'know, if it was someone other than my friend who he was going out with, it wouldn't be so bad, because I wouldn't have to feel guilty about being jealous of her. I could say, "Oh she's a b****" or "she tricked him into it" but this girl is a really sweet person. It just doesn't seem fair. I've known him for years and I've been pining after him since early last year. She arrives on the scene this year, and bang, just like that, they're dating. The worst part is I have to smile and act like I'm happy for them when (if you'll excuse the drama) my heart is breaking.
fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck. Ol' Mairi just can't catch a break. |

I suppose it's all about confidence - the tradition of the lad/guy making the first move is slowly shifting. It must be awful to be in your scenario, but when something promising comes along - be more assertive |

Yeah, but the thing is, if he rejected me, it would have ruined the friendship. But I do see your point. |

the fear of rejection is always bubbling away - it has stopped me many a time in the past - but if you feel a strong connection - a risk may be what the relationship needs...although saying this is alot easier than action ... |

I know the problem, I've been in the exact same situation (with a girl instead of a boy, of course). I hope you'll find someone else, cause that's really the only solution... |

Man, if I had a dollar for every friend I'd fallen for. This sort of thing never stops happening, nor does the answer get any easier. It's a b****. I'veve found that whenever a male and female become "good friends" invariably one wants more than the other. Heartache ensues. While some cultures seperating the sexes may seem barbaric to us, you can see their point. Life must certainly be so much easier. |
