Any fans here?

There was a guy who wrote many of their early hits (although uncredited because Dave Clark wanted it to look as if their hits were written by the band!) was the lead singer/songwriter in my Dad's band back in the early sixties. This guy was later a member of the legendary Riot Squad and The Blue Aces!

My dad has for years been telling me how Dave Clark shafted this very talented musician who never received a single penny for the songs he wrote for the DC5, including "Bits and Pieces" (co-written with Mike Smith) and "Because". Well I have managed to track the guy down and sadly everything my dad told me was absolutely true!!

If anyone is interested I will try to get him to tell his story here. It's a sad but true story that my dad can vouch for 100%.

I'd love to hear this story Al as i'm a fan of the DC5 (stupid double cd cost my 80 bucks a few years back).

Winwood was never in this band as far as I know.

Sounds very interesting. A friend of mine is into this band in a big way, she'd love to hear about this.
