This colorful collection of posters was designed by the Apple artists collectively known as The Fool. The design group of Josje Leeger, Marijke Koger, and Simon Postuma, moved to London in 1966 after running their own boutique in Amsterdam called The Trend. Brian Epstein was introduced to the work of the Fool through public relations specialist Barry Finch, who soon became a member of the group himself. The Fool persuded the Beatles to hire them as designers for their Apple Boutique line of clothing in 1967.. It was also the Fool who designed the huge mural that adorned the facade of the Baker Street store; a move that stirred considerable controversy as other local merchants mounted a successful campaign to have it whitewashed.
After the closing of the Apple Boutique in 1968, the Fool moved to the United States where, after recording an album entitled "The Fool," they founded The Chariot design company and began designing theatres.

On the reverse of five of the following seven posters is printed, "designed by Simon & Marijke, Apple Publishing & Company LTD., reproduced & printed in England by Trade Platemaking Services". One is attributed to Josje & Barry.

While these posters were sold at the Apple Boutique, further distribution in the U.K. was quite limited. To the best of our knowledge, the posters were never marketed in America.

seems that barry ended up joining more than just the group...he landed the babe...i am trying to find more on their store called the trend...maybe they are still in business of sorts....those are some interesting interveiws that are yet to be...it says the moved over here and started the chariot company......it probally flopped to that remains to be seen....and please roberto if you have nothing worthwhile to add...then stay the hell out of my topics....

at least you added viable info after that fact.....not like some others that i will not fail to mention if i have too...it gets old to go back to a topic you are researching because someone added an post and when you finally get to read the topic....you see that no new info was added.....squat...noda...nothing...well maybe nothing but  ....and that to me ain't worthwhile...i realize it makes me look like a jerk for saying raxo(i had to) added nothing but we know that i don't mind at all being such...over here our internet moves as fast as todd does...it's slow....and with pictures in a topic,the page loads real slow...i waited for this fool topic for what seemed like ages to see added info,there was some from once source but the other source just wanted to be seen(always)...i feel that some of my time was wasted...at least it was not a complete loss...thanks for the info alan...and raxo again thanks for wasting my time...as always!!
