This is a track by The Overtures that has been used on a few budget Beatles videos.

But this isn't a cover of the McCartney/Harrison number of the same name?

I think he means they use when they can't be arsed  paying royalties for the original, or haven't got permission to use them.

Oh sure. But this isn't even a cover of the original McCratney/Harrison song. It's a different song with the same title.

And those cheap unauthorised docs never use the real thing, either because it's too expensive, or they're not allowed. Notice whenever there's a drama or documentary based in the sixties there's never any Beatles music featured.

The Overtures (who played at my Sixties night!) were commissioned to write a song for the the video release about 7 years ago - this was before The Beatles' "In Spite Of All The Danger" had EVER been heard publicly. They only used the title as a basis for their song - it is an entirely original composition.

The song was actually recorded at Abbey Road studios! I think it's a great little track actually! Certainly a lot better than the usual rubbish they play in the background in these types of "documentary"!

Here's a link to further info about the recording: http://www.theovertures.com/html/abbeyrd.htm
