We've all noticed that a lot of people sign up, then never seem to get involved. It's possible to send a pm to each new member however. How about us sending pms to them to welcome them to the forum? It might encourage them to stay. Has anybody actually done that? |

I've seen it on every forum I've visited: a lot of people sign up, but a lot of them don't post after that. It's just something that happens. It's my feeling that if I should get about ten pm's to start with, it'd scare me off. Maybe one of the administrators can send a personal message to each new member, with a welcome and a very small explanation. Let's not jump on new members all together. |
