Not being a grumpy old git or anything, but...

Can we fix a maximum size (width) for pictures posted in threads? I use a laptop with my browser the full width of the monitor, but some of the pics are so large that the text runs off the page and you have to scroll accross as well as down. Bit of a pain in the a*se!

Just a suggestion.

Imageshack has the possibility to resize your pictures when uploading. I usually resize them for messageboards
That works fine.

Well I don't post large pictures. I can resize them in Photoshop anyway. I was thinking of encouraging others to do the same. The Mojo Sgt. Pepper thread, for example.

Indica might have done that to make it readable.

Some people want to share the best resolution of the pics (articles, front covers and all that!) and the ones who download/copy them to their harddisc like to have them so too ... and I can understand them!

But it does make it a real pain in the arse to read the thread sometimes. If someone wants something to be read, I'd suggest making a .pdf of it and uploading somewhere. It's actually not that easy to read that Mojo stuff anyway, even given the size.

I'm sure people with dial-up connection will agree with you.

I'm beginging to think that this is not so important: there are no so many threads with really really big pics here, right? ... and, in the end, you can always download them and look -or read- them (if they had words) in your own computer/screen, choosing the size you want!!!

After all, each page contains only 15 replies and after those you change the page   ... and if you upload a pdf file (or whatever) you won't be able to download it after some weeks: that's what I would call a "real pain in the arse"!!!

P.S. It's very very easy to read the Mojo stuff (thanks a-gain, Indica) ... if you've got a small screen you can download it and read it as if it was a magazine ... one thing that you couldn't do with a worse resolution or smaller pic, sure!!!

I just though it would be a useful suggestion. Something easily avoided. I wish I hadn't bothered now.

It is , and there are cases when big pics are unnecessary and I agree with you, BlueMeanie!!! But, an advise, don't believe in everything you read out there, if you've read something
