I had never heard this song til about a week ago and my impresssions of the song by just looking at the title were very wrong! I always thought it would be a pop-orietened song but come to find out to me its one of his most rocked-out song as a solo/wings member.

Is the song purely about sex? and is Paul really speaking of smoking pot during the chorus?? "We're gonna get Hi Hi Hi"!

Right ... and it's precisealley because of that that the song was banned   ...

It's not one of his great solo songs but after the break-up of The Guys Pau and his new band were still trying to find a way ... it was early 70s   ...

Its an awesome rocker and made for one great encore in his Wings days.

Either way its a really great tune.

I can't remember where I read this, but I remember Paul saying that it was banned because everyone thought he was singing "get you ready for my body gun" instead of "get you ready for my polygon".

This a brilliant tune of macca`s a classic rocker along with soliy [ive spelt it wrong aint i]

Helen Wheels is about Pauls Land Rover, but you can look at the lyrics and get a different meaning from them. When I was young, I always thought it was about sex.

That would sound logical but if you listen to the song

He missed being a Beatle & felt it was like being in Hell without them!

Linda convinced him--He is somebody--he did not need John or the Bealtes!

Where are you getting this mess? Are you just stating your opinion as fact? The freakin song is about his and Lindas Land Rover thay used to drive around in. Thats not a guess, its a fact.

Second off, he's referring to the vehicle as a she.

Third off, Paul and Linda nicknamed their Land Rover "Hell-On-Wheels".

Helen Wheels was the name Paul gave to his Land Rover, and the song tells the story of a trip from Paul's Scottish farm down to London.

Although Paul was down to a trio for the A-side, the B-side had already been recorded with all five members.

The track also appeared on the "Band On The Run" album in the states (against Paul's wishes !)

The single was not released in a picture sleeve, but was available in the yellow "Wings" cover.
