Just bought the 2 disc Hard Day's Night d.v.d. yesterday. Forgot how Great the movie is!!!!!!!!Good interviews on disc 2 : Sir George Martin, Klaus Voorman,etc..., co -stars from the movie.....
Yeah...LOVED that when I bought it a few years ago. There's also a "Making of Hard Day's Night" disc too (might be harder to find now). Phil Collins is the host of that dvd--because he was an "extra" in the film (believe it or not , well before his legendary days w/ Genesis he was a kid actor/singer on the London stage. About the time Collins was an early teen the Fab were making "Hard Day's" and Richard Lester (the film's director) asked him to be one of the screaming kids in the audience during the movie's climax concert footage (This disc points out where Phil is in the crowd) I thought it was WILD...I never knew that little bit of trivia..and I thought I knew EVERYHING about The Fab!!!

When I was growing up, my parents knew Phil Collins' parents. His dad had a van rental shop a few doors down from us. His mum did theatre and film casting, that's how she managed to get him in to AHDN. It's also how she managed to arrange for him to get a brief close up! When I used to play football in the park at the back of our house, Phil Collins was one of the 'big boys' who used to nick the ball. (He's 7 years older than me in case you wondered). He and Jack Wild used to hang about together; funny, they both played the part of The Artful Dodger' in 'Oliver!'. It was when you put 'WILD' in caps, it all came flooding back!
I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.
haha BlueMeanie...and when YOU mentioned Jack Wild, all the "HR Puffinstuff" (sp) memories came rushing back!---(but that's so off topic, so I'll let it go)
I wasnt sure of the exact details of how Phil got into AHDN (apart from knowing he somehow got Richard Lester's attention) THANKS for the extra info!!
I love all the extras the AHDN DVD has. It was definitely worth the $$
