But, thanks for responding anyway, Mr. Kite. Your point is very good. Wondered with such a short intro if anyone would much. Too tired right now to say why I think so. But I will. Basically to say that Pink Floyd are the true architects of rock. As I've said before.

I  think of PINK FLOYD as more of a rock band as such, and YES as prog rock
But then again FLOYD are allways classed as the ultimate prog rock band
No i can`t decide , i love both bands too much to put one above the other

Pink Floyd were more rock. With Gilmour's blues-based guitar playing. Harder than Howe. Maybe you mean Syd Barrett's Floyd was more pop, Raxo. That's for sure. Yes were poppy at times; 90125 album, Tormato, and the awful Open Your Eyes (some good moments though).

That's how I hear some of their music. I've heard all their stuff. Their eighties sound period was poppyish.

Oh no GREEN APPLE you`ve mentioned that horrible word  EIGHTIES
Yes even YES took a dive in the [gulp] EIGHTIES
The reason i listened to FLOYD and YES because they were not mainstream bands or pop bands, as i got older i stoped listening to the charts and just bought albums ,i suppoose that sounds a bit narrow minded

PINK FLOYD POP

Thanks, mr kite! Well, I live just here!!!

I said "they are a little more pop or call it "mainstream" in some of their albums or songs" ... and by pop (corrected as "mainstream" if you want it) I was thinking in the charts and popularity or popular music, more defined as that, if you understand me ... there are tracks on some of their albums (and not just a few) that sound as a non-progresive band ... and Wish You Were Here is mainstream to me, for example (sometimes it reminds me of The Eagles so imagine!!!) ... anyway, a great epic ballad!!!

They are one of my all time favourite bands!

Not if you're talking about the UK charts. I liked it in the late eighties/early nineties when the black music thing got big. Since that, don't care about the charts. Albums are where it's at. That's where most of the best (rock) music is.

Please, I said that it "sometimes it reminds me of The Eagles so imagine" and I called it mainstream, you know ... I like it too   but it's not far from what most people think pop is, if you understand what I mean: the guitars and atmosphere of the ballad!
