MCCARTNEY AND THE HEIRESS
HE has hidden himself away for months - now Sir Paul McCartney is being comforted through his marriage split by a former love of Prince Charles. Macca, 64, and heiress Sabrina Guinness, 52, embraced when they met for a date earlier this week. A friend said: "Paul has known Sabrina for quite a time but their friendship has recently begun to deepen. She is a much-needed shoulder to cry on. She's taking him to meet her friends and is helping him rediscover life. Paul adores female company and it is 10 months since his split. No one expects him to spend the rest of his life on his own. He obviously gets on with Sabrina. They have lots in common." Last night Macca said: "I realise everyone wants to see me with a new bird right now and that's very flattering. "I've known this lady for a while. We enjoy each other's company and when we get together we talk about stuff like the environment and Al Gore - things like that. We have similar views." He added: "I have had a terrible day at the office and as you probably know I'm going through a pretty difficult divorce right now too. I just fancied going out for a few drinks to relax. We're meeting up with my daughter and that's that. It's not really a big thing." Macca invited Sabrina to join him, his fashion designer daughter Stella, 35, and her husband Alasdhair Willis, 36, for dinner in an Italian restaurant in Notting Hill, West London, on Wednesday. The star - locked in a divorce battle with 39-year-old Heather Mills - left his St John's Wood home at 7.30pm for the 15-minute journey to Sabrina's house near Ladbroke Grove. He knocked on her door and waited a few minutes for the ex-nanny to emerge. They embraced before getting into his chauffeured Lexus. But instead of sharing dinner as planned, Sir Paul dropped Sabrina off at an address half a mile up the road after the couple were spotted by photographers. He then arrived alone at the nearby Osteria Basilica restaurant, where Stella and Alasdhair were waiting. An onlooker said: "He plonked himself in the window seat and was with them for about three-and-a-half hours. "They were ordering bottle after bottle of red wine and probably had about six. Paul had obviously had a drink or two and was clearly getting quite agitated. He came outside about eight times to remonstrate with photographers and told them they'd ruined his night. It was clear Sabrina was supposed to be joining them. She had a change of heart when she realised the attention it would attract." The trio emerged from the restaurant shortly after midnight and left in a black cab. Stella and Alasdhair were dropped home first, then Macca was returned to St John's Wood. Friends said Macca and Sabrina had bonded over common interests. One revealed: "Sabrina is much closer in age to Paul than Heather and they obviously have a shared history. She's a very glamorous woman and he enjoys spending time with her. They also share similar views on cannabis. Paul has admitted smoking it in the past and Sabrina is a supporter of the fight to legalise it." Macca has a history of being attracted to women who champion causes. First wife Linda was a vegetarian. Heather was linked to anti-landmine work. Sabrina pioneered Youth Cable TV, a charity which has steered thousands of young people away from life on the dole. She remains close friends with Prince Charles and was invited to his April 2005 marriage to Camilla. Sabrina dated the prince 30 years ago. Yesterday sources close to Macca tried to play down the friendship. One insider said: "It's ridiculous. He can't go anywhere without sparking rumours of a romance." A spokesman for Sir Paul said: "There's no relationship. There's nothing to it."
And now the eyes are on Renee Zellweger. Or better: her eyes are on him.
When did these rumours surface Bobber? I know they were both at the Labor Day party thrown by Bon Jovi (not together though that I know), but I havent heard anything about this.
I heard this morning that they had dinner together in the Hamptons. So who knows what that means. He does like his skinny blondes though. I just wish he'd go a little older for God's sake. The guys almost seventy!
Nope, still don't feel better. I really hope he's not taken in by her. She seems like a real dope. I mean, she's one of those idiots that falls in love at the drop of a hat. She's just an overindulged, vapid, Hollywood stick. He can do better.
I'm just wondering if he's fallen for the type of crowd now,,,,the jet setters. When he was with Heather (b****), they seemed to spend a lot of time with Micheal Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones too. (even if it was the whole peta thing). Hard to say.
I read about Paul and Renee getting friendly in a newspaper just over a week ago. I just burst out laughing, Imagine Renee and Paul... Yeah, I need a bucket....
Although that would be quite cool if they hooked up because I like the both of them. Pauls an excellent musician and Renees a really good actress.
xoxo
Thank god for the Beatles for taking the worlds heart and never returning it.
I guess Paul is hanging in the Hamptons these days. Apparently he was at a party that Jon Bon Jovi threw and at some point got up on stage and jammed with Jon, Roger Waters, Billy Joel, and Jimmy Buffet. Among others. Springsteen was there but didn't join the jam session. What's he too good? Anyway, I think that's where he was smoozing with Rene. He went to a Tom Petty concert out there too but I don't know who with. I heard this on the Howard Stern show. He was at both places too. Paul needs to go back to the UK already and quit associating with this Hollywood crowd. It's kind of nauseating.
