Details about Paul's new album

According to a reliable source Paul McCartney was in New York city a few weeks ago at a private listening party for his new album at a recording studio. A representative from Starbucks' new Hear Music label, which McCartney has just signed with was present.

The album is mix of new songs and songs recorded before Nigel Godrich rejected them for the "Chaos" album. Paul's touring band is on 50% of the songs. The rest of the songs use other musicians including string quartets and are songs Paul has done his own instrumentation on. There may be outtakes from the "Driving Rain" sessions on the album.

There are unconfirmed rumors that the album may be released on McCartney's 65th birthday (June 18th) and called "McCartney III."

I'm not sure if I want the rejects from Chaos and Driving Rain (theres a reason those songs didnt make the cut). I want a depressed, pissed off McCartney in the studio with something to say. Screw the nice guy image.

^Ditto! Spicealley if they come from the Driving Rain sesions!
... and I wish a different album title if Paul doesn't play all the instruments!

... by the way, which is the musical break-up now, Paul? Heather?!   ... McCartney: the first album "after" the break-up of The Guys and McCartney II: the first album without Wings ... so now?

What about releasing some of those golden treasures he's got ... from late 70s, for example: Cold Cuts and all that ...

... by the way, what is going to happen after this one? ... because I've read that his contrat is only for one album!

I think his next album should be a primal scream kind-of-thing
(about his divorce & the nasty rumors) or a Dylan-type Blood on
the Tracks!

It's been a Hard Days Night & i've been working like a dog!

I hope we aren't going to get the left overs. I was kinda hoping that this album would have a similar feel to chaos.

I really hope he follows up with something like C&C. It's so good to hear Macca like The Beatles late era.

Totally agree. A Macca baring his soul to the world for the first time could indeed produce a classic.

This is worrying. Will McCartney never realise that he is often not the best judge of whether a song is good or not. Outakes from Driving Rain? And why employ someone of the calibre of Nigel Godrich and then include the stuff he rejected - in order to make your best album in years - on your next release?? He really can be a bloody twat sometimes!

I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

Let's wait and see ... have you read this text quoted by Bobber?:
http://www.dmbeatles.com/forums/b-mccartney/m-1175083236/

"Paul McCartney will hit the road sometime in the fall to promote his upcoming album, which is expected out in June. McCartney's lead guitarist Rusty Anderson posted an update on his myspace.com blog (myspace.com/rustyandersonmusic) saying that, "On the Paul McCartney scene, last I heard the tour is postponed 'til the fall. I'm not quite sure where yet. The record that we started and got over half done with Paul at Abbey Road (Studios) a while back should be finished by now. It sounds amazing. Very dynamic and colorful."

Rusty Anderson says that recording with McCartney at the legendary Abbey Road Studios where the Beatles recorded the majority of their work is a surreal experience: "That's pretty trippy. It was really fun, you know, having Paul show us around and say, 'Oh, this is the room that we recorded (the Beatles') 'Yer Blues' in. We all set up in this little tiny room and crammed the drums and the amps and everybody in there, and recorded it.' And I'm like, 'Damn!' (Laughs) That's pretty amazing.'"

HE IS JUST REALLY THE KING OF POP

BETTER WE GOT THE MUSIC WHILE STILL ALIVE AS IF HE IS DEAD.

Beautiful Night was recorded 1987 and published 1997 on Flaming Pie and is a great Song.

I realise that Macca does need a slap at times (heather mills,
wacko jacko & frog chorus for example) but you can't beat his
songwriting when he really gets down to it. there's a lot of great
macca outtakes out there. There's one called 'India' which he played
on his secret website which is an amazing song & i think should be released.
But i agree he should make proper albums, with songs we've never heard before.
Chaos was such a surprising album to me!!

It was started in 1987. It may had changed considerably in the 10 years it lay unused. Really, do you want to hear anything that's actually worse than 'At The Mercy'?
