Can anyone point me to an example (or several examples) of a post-Beatles Paul song that features lead guitar work? The solo doesn't have to be by Paul-- it could be anyone.
I'm trying to understand how important the guitar component was to his songs, vs. keyboard or orchestration, and I'm not too familiar with his solo catalog. Sorry, still working my way through! Thanks!

Look towards when he was with Wings. There are many songs in Wings that have heavy guitar work and guitar solos. Anything past 1979 is..well...80s..I'll post you some videos of great lead guitar work.(Especially from Jimmy McCulloch lead guitarist of Wings)
Here is 'Letting Go' mon. Their is a lot of heavy guitar in this song and a great solo.
Hooray, hooray! Thanks, Wordno and Mclennon! I'm downloading now on my extremely slow connection. This is just the kind of thing I'm after. Yay!

Some guitar work I liked from Pauls solo stuff would be-
'Somebody Who Cares' - Tug Of War 'Maybe I'm Amazed' - McCartney 'Too Many People' - RAM 'Juniors Farm' - single (Great Jimmy McCulloch solo) 'Let Me Roll It' - Band On The Run 'Angry' - Press To Play 'We Got Married' - Flowers In The Dirt 'Hope Of Deliverance' - Off The Ground 'Somedays' - Flaming Pie (Greatest song he ever did) 'Jenny Wren' - Chaos and Creation
These are just a few. Theres many more, but i'd have to sit down and listen to a bunch of them again which isnt a bad idea.
Here is 'Junior's Farm' that Tkitna was talking about. Jimmy(or James. Thats what Paul called him in the video hehe) does have an awesome guitar solo on this song.
'The Mess' is an awesome song. Its got some pretty neat guitar work on it.(God...I seriously hope Paul pulls out some Songs from his Wings days for his next tour. He really needs to.)
Thanks! I'm really enjoying these. I'm only partway down the list, but having a ball. Cheers!

Maybe I'm Amazed Medicine Jar (jimmy McCulloch) Calico Skies My Love (Henry McCullough - killer of a solo!) Letting Go Old Siam, Sir Junior's Farm No Values (obviously heard the ending in the Broadstreet film) Get out of my way (Robbie McIntosh) The World Tonight Used to be Bad (Steve Miller) (best duet he ever did in my opinion!) Jenny Wren
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY TO THE WHITE ALBUM! you say its your birthday!
Not nearly! I only got up to McLennon's list. My connection is slow, so I load one or two songs a night after I stop working. My favorites so far are "Letting Go" and "Medicine Jar". Yes, I'll happily listen to more if you have more links to post. This is way fun.
Thanks for all your help!

Thanks, McLennon! I'm about halfway through the list.

This one is 'Wino Junko' written and sung by Wings lead Guitarist Jimmy McCulloch. Its a Wings tribute with that song. The song has great guitar and bass too.
This is 'Ninteen Hundred Eighty-five'. Its probably one of the best songs on the 'Band on the run' album. It has such a killer guitar solo and such and awesome ending. Paul is doing live vocals.
^^Spirits of Ancient Egypt, yet another nice solo by Jimmy
"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."
"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."
"I'm Joe English and I'm from Glasgow, Scotland." xD
Rockshow is incredible. Why did I have to be born 11 years later?
