Is it only me, or does anyone else finds George's lyrics are way better than his music?

Poor George! He said (I think in "I, Me, Mine") that he saw the lyrics as secondary to the melody. Oh, well, I guess he succeeded in spite of himself! (Actually, he also said that it takes 3 parts to make a song, the lyrics, the music, and something else I forgot-- I think the "message" of the song, or the gist-- the big picture).

Anyway, I personally love his music. I sometimes corrupt the lyrics because I can't hear them clearly, but I think George wanted it that way. *sings, "My lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ve belongs to who-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-"

All you've got to do is choose love.  That's how I live it now.  I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden.  I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007

I think that sometimes his lyrics are so good that the music seems to be worse than it really is ... well, he could write with deep meaning but his music can communiKate so many different feelings! (sometimes with just the intro or his solo) that I can't listen to just "the noise" of the song as John said ...

George wrote some beautiful melodies (personally i thin his
best were in the beatles, 'something', while my guitar gently weeps' etc).
He was always a stong lyric writer right from the beggining i think. Think for
Yourself & Taxman were quite important subjects.
Out of all the best melodies he wrote solo, i think, "All Things must pass" album.
He did always write what he felt so maybe that's why his lyrics (maybe written first)
were so important & he could have added the music last.

I like his melodies when he was with the Beatles, but once he was solo... it sort of... yea... I mean he is a great guitarist and some songs of his have really good music but on the whole i prefer his lyrics.
