I'll contribute to the cause with Passionate, World-Altering George:

All you've got to do is choose love.  That's how I live it now.  I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden.  I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007

For all I know, Ringo might be a yogi disguised as a drummer! - George Harrison

why thankyou everyone for decorating my mainlbox with all the amazing George pics! I really should check my mailbox more often!

And Mr Kite,
My woodpecker knowledge is expanding- so thank you very much! And WHY oh WHY do pigeons nest under railway bridges? oh senseless birds. I have a feeling that (with all due respect for pigeons nationwide) that it is due to their stupidity. THey appear to lack intelligence a bit don't they?! I love woodpigeons. I can see one right now- they nest in our roof. This is a clever example of nesting which the common pigeon should learn from- intelligent placement and they make a damn good (if not far too early) alarm clock
