Olivia is on TV today talking about George. On the promo's for The Champion League Finals they're using the Love version of Get Back. On a news story on Sunday they used the Ticket To Ride phrase for a story about rail fares. Beatle influences seem to be every where. Are you guys interested in using this thread to get a snapshot of this. We could for a few months record everytime we here or see a Beatle phrase, or see a Beatle interview, or hear Beatle music is a diffent/unusual setting? Post if you dare.l
This one is a bit vague but on Saturday, there was a Beatle reference in Doctor who (they had to know whether the beatles or elvis had more number 1s to get through a door) and the Doctor says 'Here Comes the Sun' a bit later (relevant because they are in a spaceship heading towards the sun). Funny
(can I just ask when Olivia is talking about George- what channel and time? I can't find it)
But every so often you come across something truly inspiring...
sometimes there are beatle-related questions in our quiz-shows here too. last week they asked who of the beatles married a bond-girl... there was only john and ringo left... and the guy thought yoko was a bond-girl
george george whoops george whoops george george george
Paul was on Later with Jools Holland last night...i only caught him doing 'lady Maddonna', and it seemed pretty shabby.
Early in the show Jools had a chat with Paul and said that when he was 10 he (Jools) and his mother learnt to play Lady Madonna on the piano, and would Paul play it later. If this was genuine (and not a set up - I fell asleep and didn't see him play it) then it was unrehearsed, which might explain its shabiness.

In retrospect that was a stupid thing to say. Every second the show would be accounted for and there would be no time for unrehearsed numbers.
Yes, i walked into a book-cafe in town today & they were playing the one & only fabs! It sounded like a slef-made compilation to me & i know a lass who i've grown to like. Maybe the fabs are trying to direct me in a great direction here! Know what i mean Harihead!, nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more! I couldn't leave as the fabs were "once agian" making me feel great!
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY TO THE WHITE ALBUM! you say its your birthday!

Just use Monty Python on her, and she'll be eating out of your hand. Good luck!
All you've got to do is choose love. That's how I live it now. I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden. I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007
For all I know, Ringo might be a yogi disguised as a drummer! - George Harrison

Hehe, yeah, that reminds me of something similar in the movie Love Actually... Liam Neeson's character went "for goodness sake, Ringo Starr married a Bond Girl"... There are actually quite a few Beatles references in that movie...
And today there's an article in the paper about the Beatles' visit to New Zealand (in 1964) and their (brief) stay here in Wellington. There's a picture of the four of 'em with Tiki necklaces... Aw... Looks like they had a good reception down here. And it says that John and Ringo got in touch with some relatives here (which is backed up with a picture). Pretty cool
I'd ask my friends to come and see... an Octopus's Garden with me ^___^
