I'm wondering what the greatest single scream in rock'n'roll.

I'll propose Roger Daltry in "Won't Get Fooled Again."  And John Lennon in "Revolution" (if that's John).  Anybody else?

Kate Bush  " Violin ", from Never For Ever (1980) she let's rip through out that track , think i read somewhere she as a four octave range what ever that means lol.
So i would put her forward as the biggest screamer in Rock n Roll at least female wise .

I'm guessing that Little Richard is going to be in there somewhere.

I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

Thom Yorke - Climbing Up The Walls.
Iggy Pop - LA Blues.

And let's not forget:
Ringo - I've got blisters on my fingers!!

Though pretty much nothing beats Daltry.

What about Kurt Cobain?

I imagine Polly Harvey could give her a run for her money.

Good picks.  I wouldn't have thought Kate Bush, but I bet she's got one helluva scream.  Maybe like Ann Wilson on "Crazy on You"?

I guess Howling Wolf had more of a howl than a scream--and he's blues more than rock-n-roll.

Little Richard is maybe the archetypal r-n-r scream, since half of his songs seem like screams.

Cool thread idea. I can't think of many that haven't been named already, but I always loved Robert Plant's screaming on "Immigrant Song". Aaah-ah-aaaaah.... AH!

You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.

Roger Daltry's scream on Won't Get Fooled Again" was just perfect......not over- or underdone.

I think that's Paul letting out a scream at the beginning of Revolution.

I can stay till it's time to go
