I think it's okay, not one of my favourite cover songs, but at least it's for a good cause. I didn't like that they went on American Idol with it, though- that's very un-Lennon of them.

I just heard it today, and thought it was OK. It could never improve on the original, but I think they've had a good stab at it. I don't understand why Green Day get knocked either. It seems that 'serious' rock fans like to knock them. I think 'Busted' (known as Bust in some countries) are the British equivalent.

I also thought segueing to Lennon at the end was a nice touch.


I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

I think that's an insult to Green Day... Busted were a fabricated boy band with guitars and childish song material...

I heard this version by Green Day last week & thought it was a good cover.
Green Day are a great band by the way & their American Idiot album was very good too.
