We have some great interviewers over here. Larry King just isn't one of them. I'm not sure it there's an American interviewing technique as each journalist seems to have their own style. I wish they would have gotten someone who actually was a fan of the Beatles to do this interview.
I guess that the style of interviewing is heavily based on the fact that you have to break for ads every 6 minutes or so, so it can get very disjointed. Which is why it's so important to ask the right questions. And to have someone asking them who has at least done a little bit of research.
I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

Cable is the worst for ads. Shows like Dateline and 20/20 do a much better job interviewing people. But then my dead dog could do a much better job interviewing than Larry King.
Ringo and Paul both wearing trainers with their suits was kind of amusing, as was the look of surprise on Olivia's face when Yoko 'revealed' that it was John that pushed to have Something released as a single. Apart from that Larry called Ringo George, couldn't pronounce Cirque du Soleil the same way twice, and shamelessly kept plugging his show with Paris Hilton at the end. He only asked questions that we already new the answers to, and read almost entirely from a script which never left his hands. A real pro!
Sorry Larry, but you should have been put out to grass years ago.
I....was literally about to say the same thing. The whole Ringo-wearing-trainers-and-constantly-tapping-a-beat-with-his-foot thing made me very happy.
Yoko was very, er, surprising. She was trying painfully hard to integrate herself, I think, and that seemed to kind of put Olivia and Paul on their guards. Still, calling Paul magnificent still made my day.
The part where Paul talked about holding George's hand for hours before he died made me cry...and I don't cry easily a'tall...*sniffles*
I honestly thought the Larry was being a bit of an a** to them. I think he could've treated them with a little more respect then he did. A little off topic, but did anybody else notice Paul shaking his head (disappointment?) when Larry King mentioned that Paris Hilton was going to be on the next night. "You have heard of her before..." (Paul shakes head slowly)
You guys probably know this, but The Larry King/Beatles interviews of last month are on the tube ... it was a "Love" Cirque de Soleil event. I loved seeing Paul and Ringo together (though Ringo seemed a little testy), even Olivia and Yoko.
Just google Larry King - Beatles - Love - Cirque , should come up pretty well.
Sorry if a duplicate here ... I didn't notice on the first page.
I love John, I love Paul, And George and Ringo, I love them all!
I merged the two. Not that the other thread had much to it, but I figured it made sense. Hope that's okay.
That's fine by me, Sandra, wished I had looked more to find where it belonged.
Did anyone else catch Paul with his arm on Yoko's shoulder as they walked into the Circus? It was really quick, and I'm not 100% sure that I actually saw it, but if it really happened, kind of interesting. Maybe has something to do with Paul realizing that some things just aren't as important as they once seemed, what with the end not as far away as it used to be.
I also had the feeling that Ringo and Paul weren't exactly buddy-buddy. Ringo seemed a little off-put, like he felt like a junior Beatle again. Just doing some mind-reading through youtube here!
It was definitely a great view. The entire interview is on youtube (at least it was yesterday).
I love John, I love Paul, And George and Ringo, I love them all!
