It is always a question... Were The Beatles better when they first came out or towards the end? (or somewhere in between)
What do you people think?
It is hard for me personally to decide... The Beatles had some nice songs from like '63 to '66ish.... they were catchy and up beat and fun... the later years were pretty and had some nice tunes as well...

I prefer the songs 63 to 67. I think they stuggled 68 onwards in their songs but of course they were still amazing! I just love the energy of them early beatles records. But after saying that i would have done anything to see them in Hamburg or the Cavern before they hit it bigtime! the way they just banged songs out & shouted at the audience sounds just so cool! I'm just a sucker for the catchy perfect pop song to be honest!, so that's why i choose the early years!

I think each period has its magic, even those early songs had signs of what The Beatles were about to become, then with Rubber Soul & Revolver came a transition period and the rest is history. But most of my fave songs are from their last years together.
I like the period after they stoped touring. But whats amazing is they went through a lot of interesting looks and sounds . One thinks of Bowie changing his image or say Madonna today . But The Beatles in my opinion kicked off the whole notion of reinvention , the leather look ,the suited moptop look and the hippy look. Ch Ch Changes
I agree with that also ^ but i prefer the early days. They gave everything they could because there was no guarantee that they'll become stars. I'm not saying that they didnt give all they got after. But in the early years they were so young and fresh and sang rock n roll.... I'll agree with Lennon (and bobber).
