Just discovered the board -- very cool. Don't know which board various things go on (there's not one for "what if" sepcifically, so ...
For a long time, I thought about running solo tracks together to get the albums they might've done, had they just taken a cooling-off period and gotten back to it. iPod makes these things easy, so I "produced" 5 albums. Here's the first -- I hope you like the idea, even if I've butchered the chronology a bit. I tried.
All Things Must Pass (Released November 1970) Side 1 Instant Karma My Sweet Lord Every Night Beware of Darkness Man We Was Lonely Love Maybe I’m Amazed
Side 2 Mother Teddy Boy Working Class Hero Isolation Junk God All Things Must Pass
All you've got to do is choose love. That's how I live it now. I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden. I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007
For all I know, Ringo might be a yogi disguised as a drummer! - George Harrison
Bobber -- yeah, I know it's not an original idea. I was kind of surprised to plow through the message boards, though, and not see other versions. So, this is mine. And everyone will have ideas on how they could've been different, including ...
BlueMeanie -- watch for my next album for "It Don't Come Easy."
I'll move this one and the others to another thread with a title better than "new member." A few of these albums -- dare I say -- would be every bit as good as the ones we hold near and dear and near.
Some members saw this under the dull and misleading thread name "new member." Yes, I'm new to the board. As I said there, I have put together 5 post-breakup albums, just imagining what I thought the Fabs might sound like in the early '70s, had they taken a break rather than, well, break up. I welcome all suggestions or observations. The chronology of songs on the solo albums and singles might not mesh perfectly with my "releases," but I tried. I give you the first -- All Things Must Pass
All Things Must Pass (Released November 1970) Side 1 Instant Karma My Sweet Lord Every Night Beware of Darkness Man We Was Lonely Love Maybe I’m Amazed
Side 2 Mother Teddy Boy (the one off Anthology -- makes me laugh) Working Class Hero Isolation Junk God All Things Must Pass
I think we'd agree that George came into his own on Abbey Road (and before), and while I don't want to invent discussions and arguments (saving that for my screenplay!), I think that John and Paul might've given him his due, with an album title and a single. The others will follow. Too much information on a double release.
