Just to let you all know of the recent uploads to the Bootleg forum.
The End has recently started uploading the excellent 'Alternate' series from Pear records. Here you can download The Alternate Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale, Help! Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Pepper (featuring the mono version of the album), and Magical Mystery Tour. With (I hope) more to follow.
White Album enthusiasts can download Primal Colours from Masterdisc. An excellent quality boot that every Beatles fan should own.
Also for White Album freaks and any Beatles fan really, there's the White Album 30th Anniversary Radio Documentary. This is a documentary produced in the US in 1998, but apparently never aired. Including alternate takes, domo's and interviews.
If it's live stuff you're after we've got Northwest Nights. This features the infamous Vancouver concert on August 22. There was a large police presence and the stage was barracaded. The audience were unruly and violence broke out as a section of the crowd rushed the stage. The show was halted for a while and The Beatles left the stage while the announcer attempted to calm things down. There is also a radio feed with live running commentary.
Also on the live front, there's Candlestick Park, 1966, the last concert The Beatles performed to a paying audience:
Live in Melbourne, 1964, and live in Copenhagen and Adelaide, 1964.
And lot's more! So get on over to the Bootleg Forum, and start downloading.
I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.
You're a better moderator for the bootlegforum than I ever was!
Beginers enthusiasm! I just got fed up with spending an hour and a half uploading something that nobody downloads! Shame about not being able to have any sub-folders in there.

I'm downloading a lot of things that are uploaded, but not all. Sometimes I forget to say 'thank you'.
Oh don't worry about thank you's! I just thought the sub-folder thing could have worked out well, so people didn't have to trawl through pages and pages of stuff. It get's forgotten about. I guess they can all be bumped, but then other more recent stuff gets pushed down the page.

The lack of organization is a problem for me on the bootleg page. I'm so new to it, I spend a lot of time looking up the various entries-- and I haven't had a lot of time lately! Sometimes when I find one I think I might like, the link has expired. I also have a slow computer connection, so each download represents an investment.
I have to say, I've been very pleased with the things I have downloaded! Northwest Nights was amazing! The radio commentary still blows me away. I prefer live stuff and interviews, or studio takes with chatter. I'm still becoming more familiar with the Beatles regular catalog, so I'm not in the best position to appreciate or discuss alternate takes.
Thanks for taking the effort to post! I'll get round to everything eventually.

Thanks, Cor. It seems like such a lot of trouble to put someone to. I try to sneak in unobtrusively...

I'm currently looking into ways of making the Boot section more accessable. The simplest solution is to add sub-folders, so that we have: Beatles Live, Beatles Studio etc. But according to Dmitry that isn't possible with the current version of the software. Something will be done, fairly soon(ish) though. I hope! A few people have suggested running it as a P2P network, but that would rely heavily on how many people were online at a time.
Thanks for all your efforts, BM! I will be happy to explore your revised bootlegs section whenever it's ready--no hurries, no worries. Thanks!
Oh, and I'd like to request you to upload 'Day By Day'. *hides behind that overturned chair Paul used in MAF*
