It brings back memories of my younger days back in the late 70's when The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl was released. It was in my album collection at the time, I think it captured Beatlemania at its heights & the inside cover was cool as far as I'm concerned. The only stupid thing about it were the remarks on the back by George Martin mentioning the Bay City Rollers. It was a great live album with great live versions of She's A Woman, Dizzy Miss Lizzy, Things We Said Today & Long Tall Sally.
I want you, I want you so bad babe. I want you, I want you so bad. It's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.
It wasnt George Martin mentioning the Bay City Rollers, it was Murray the K.
Anyways, I bought a Russian import, 3 disc set of 'Live At The Hollywood Bowl' and I love it. Actually the crowd noise amazes me, so I dont see that as a bad thing.
I'm glad I bought that LP when it was released. At the time, this and "Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962" were the only "alternate" Beatle albums available. I bought that one also.
I have a boot of it, but I'd rather see them release a compilation of better recorded live stuff. Though I appreciate that some of you might want it for sentimental reasons.
I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.
I'm not sure if your going to get much better live stuff than that.
I dunno. Some shows were broadcast on radio from the soundboard, with pretty good results. I have a couple of boots that are better than the Hollywood Bowl stuff.

It's a good nice Live compilation & i have it on a Bootleg CD but re-releasing it would be a bit shabby i think anyway. I don't think it would would sell awfully well & it's aimed more at the die-hard Beatles fans! But i've been wrong before, this isn't the first time! Travelling Wilburys took me by surprise!!
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY TO THE WHITE ALBUM! you say its your birthday!
I've only heard mp3's of the show, I only wish I could find a bootleg cd of this at a flea market or something. It really is a good show, you can sense they're having fun.

I'll be uploading the Dr. Ebbetts Hollywood Bowl later today, in lossless form. You'll find it on the Bootleg Forum.

My older brother bought all the albums. He bought both Hollywood Bowl and Star Club when they came out. I remember liking the Star Club better, mainly because it sounded more "punk" which was the thing at the time. Also I liked the sound of Horst or whoever the emcee was.
I'd love to hear the Hollywood Bowl cleaned up via "advanced recording technology"--I'm sure somebody has created a "high-pitched scream filter" or they could at least tune the screams to the Beatles.
Yeah, i love the Star Club tapes, amazing atmosphere , Wow i wish i was there! Out of all their career, that's what i would've love to see!! Jumping, swearing, eating, & just genrally acting like goats!

And between sets, they had the chance to stroll around town:
The Japanese 'imports' of Hollywood Bowl are good. Gatefold with original liner notes and good sound quality even though taken from vinyl. Silver pressed CD. May even be a boot of Ebbet's version. Readily available on Ebay.
What time does the Bus leave?
