i have been collecting beatle things along the wway down my path of life,i started in the late 60s,to me my collection is very personal...i have things that would make your mouth water...i don't just collect beatle memorbilia either....who knows what was spent,it doesn't matter tho...i have several thousand albums...from the 40s till present, beatle 8 tracks, cassettes, albums, lunch boxes, bubble gum cards, action figures, china, cups, patch and on and on,you get the idea..trust me i had to brag to push my point.....i love my posessions and i am like a king sitting on his gold or a badger guarding his hole.....but the reality of it is my collection will be liquidated to send my 3 kids to college....and that is the only thing besides death that will seperate me from my collection...unless hurrican dean kicks floridas a**...
I don't have enough of a collection to even send myself to college, but a lot of it has sentimental value to me, especially stuff from when I first became a fan, like the first magazine I bought. I guess I would give it up for like, true love or something, but I'd have to be REALLY sure.
You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.
I got serious into beatle memborbila when i started work in 1978 when i money to burn and did i burn it on the fab 4 , everthing i bought then, i still have . What would i sacrifice, im afraid not a single thing , there all coming with me when i leave this rock

well this kind of puts me to shame- I only have all the standard UK CDs, some vinyls (no special editions or rarities though) and then some calendars, a keyring/coasters etc. The material stuff doesn't actually mean much to me because I have so little of it! It would hurt to sell all my CDs and vinyls but as long as I could somehow listen to their music still (itunes!!) then I would probably sacrifice my collection faaaaaairly easily. Hmm I've never realised that til now! Because to me, it really is the music that matters most.
But every so often you come across something truly inspiring...
I wouldn't sacrafice it for a single thing...except something that is impossible now. And that is meeting George....and getting to talk to him....besides that probably nothing.

Four Lads Who Stole the World's Heart and Never Gave it Back
I think I'm with DarkSweetLady. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I would sacrifice my collection for. Probably just to meet Paul or Ringo. And, although it's impossible, to meet all four of the Beatles and talk to them all. I don't have too much stuff yet, but someday I will have tons. The only thing I have that's been around for over 40 years is my mom's old Beatle records and books from when she was a little girl, including In His Own Write. She used to have tons of cardboard boxes full of every newspaper, magazine, etc with the Beatles in it. And she had every single one of those cards you got with the bubble gum, just everything. Oh yeah, she also had a tiny, and I mean tiny, piece of Paul McCartney's autograph! Her older sister went to a Beatles concert in Cleveland in '64, and I think someone she knew got his autograph. She and all of her friends tore the paper apart out of excitment, and each kept a little piece of the autograph! My mom had countless other things, too. The reason why I don't have it all today is because my grandma threw it all away after my mom moved out. She's the type of person who will throw anything away if it's old, valuable or not. Plus, she wasn't a Beatles fan, not many parents were back then. Oh my gosh, I am soooo mad about that, I could have all that stuff today!!
Well, I'm rambling a little. So, I think about the only thing I can think of right now that I would give my collection up for would be to meet Paul or Ringo. I would probably give it up to meet the four Beatles, but that is something that will never happen. My collection, except for my mom's old records and books, are things that can be bought again, none of them are antiques or whatever. So, I would give it up to meet them.
