Apparently Jimi Hendrix played the Saville three days after Sgt. Pepper was released, and his opening number was a Jimi-ifed version of 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.

I was wondering...is there a recording of this? If so, where might I find it, because I have a feeling that Sgt. Pepper + Jimi Hendrix = amazing.

There's a better quality version on Anthology.

I hate the cover. But it was probably rushed so what can you expect. I mean, he was usually pretty good with covers otherwise.

Appaerntly it was only rehearsed a few minutes before they took the stage! The last time the Experience  played in England.

I heard it on the Anthology DVD, and I enjoyed it.  Better than the Beatles version....no.  But I really did like Hendrix's take on it.  And considering he had very little time to get the song together, I think it was really good.
