Tony Hancock, for me, is the funniest man that ever walked the planet. I tend to love all those 50's and 60's forgotten comedians, such as: Harry Worth, Bernard Bresslaw, and Charlie Drake. And I was brought up on a diet of Radio comedy like 'Round The Horn'. I love Monty Python of course, but never got The Goodies. Of todays lot, I think Bill Bailey is extremely funny, as is Catherine Tate.

I love comedians who sing. So Monty Python is high on my list, and Tom Lehrer, and let's throw in Steve Martin because his happy banjo tune of "Oh death, and grief, and sorrow, and murder..." deserves to be remembered forever.

i like cheech and chong,richard pryor,peter sellers,dennis wolfberg,chris rock,charlie sheen,monty pythons,saturday night live(great casting for many years),second city television,are you being served was great back in the day,george carlin,chris tucker.....the list is endless...they provide a service equal to music,laughter....

Richard Pryor because he's so real. He's the greatest stand up ever. Anyone who hasn't seen his Sunset Strip performance needs to rent it immediately! Talking about being set on fire from smoking crack: I wish I could find the clip! It's hysterical. "When that fire hit your a**, it will sober your a** up *quick*! Yes, very funny man. I've always been very British in my tastes for comedy, but I was introduced (not literally) to Bill Hicks last year by a Canadian friend of mine, and was blown away.
