Great thread Mr. M.!

Maybe it should have been 'Favourite Waist of Space?

Neil Aspinall.

Magic Alex definitely did a job on John, didn't he!

I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

u can tell right there he was NEVER gonna finish the new Apple recording studio at Saville Row..it was a joke. The boys were duped...like they were w/ Maharishi (aka, Sexy Sadie himself )

Beatles or build a studio he promised. Apart from a radio
he had in a toilet!!

Magic Alex, what a character. This guy said  he could invent a force field of colored air to keep onlookers from seeing into buildings, and making a flying saucer. Some of his ideas, actually, would eventually come into use, like telephones that could dial a number with spoken instructions and display the numbers of incoming calls.

True, but bear in mind that Magic Alex was no visionary. What someone (George Martin?) speculated was that he had a subscription to Popular Mechanics, which certainly discussed things like voice dial and force shields. Magic A just dressed them up and fed them to the Beatles, who hadn't a clue. He actively hid from the engineers because they'd call his bluff in a second. He was a television-repair guy before he met the Beatles; he had that much technical background--enough to put him beyond the Beatles, but he was no Leonardo da Vinci.

All you've got to do is choose love.  That's how I live it now.  I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden.  I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007

Alex had probably been watching Star Trek!

To his credit, he's never since tried to cash in on his association with them. Maybe because it would just end up making him look bloody stupid!

I can't see how he could ever present himself in a positive light.

Hey, Ron Popeil is a cultural icon.   " ... that's Murray Hill 7, 0 Seven Hundred" "And if you order before midnight tonight ..."

Right up there with the Chia Pet.

And George and Ringo,
