I think this gets overshadowed by the notorious/famous 1970 interview. It's refreshing to hear John being so positive about the band. He is very praiseworthy of Paul and his songs. Maybe this gives a clearer insight into his state of mind before the Yoko thing really soured his relationships than his angry rememberings of two years later.
Even makes me like the guy a little bit again.

Sounds like Larry King!

Q: "You really had a place where you grew up!"

JOHN: "Oh, yeah. Didn't you?"

Q: "Well, Manhattan isn't Liverpool."

JOHN: "Well, you could write about your local bus station."

Q: "In Manhattan?"

I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.
