Songs by Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan are to be given away for free by the coffee chain Starbucks.
The company will give away 1.5 million songs a day beginning on October 2nd at its outlets in New York and Seattle.
In partnership with Apple’s iTunes, visitors to the stores will receive a ‘Song Of The Day’ card which will also allow them to download songs by such artists as Joni Mitchell and Joss Stone. It’s thought that up to 50 million songs will have been given away by November 7th as part of the promotion.
Visitors to the outlets will also be able to download songs from Starbucks’ Hear Music Label via an in store Wi-Fi network.
