As I said before, I knew it was bound for failure. To be honest, its not a very good song and anybody who had any interest in it has already bought the album a long time ago.
Paul really screwed this up. Honestly, he could have released 'Only Mama Knows' eons ago and it would have even seen some airplay on the classic rock stations where Paul hasent had an audience since god knows when. Oh well, lets get another album on the way.

Agree with all, and overall sentiment as well.
And I love Paul!
I love John, I love Paul, And George and Ringo, I love them all!
It's an OK little pop song. Nothing special. I can't comment on the rest of the album because I haven't got it, but I wouldn't expect something like this to sell that well even if it was the first single.
I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.
It Wasn't a surprise to me at all that it was second single i actually thought it should have been the first single off the album.
When i First listened to the album it was the first one to jump out at me and it sounded very similar to other bands in the charts at the moment so i also thought it would be his most commercial song of the lot.
I'm actually pretty surprised that you dont have the album BM.
I may get around to it eventually. I'm not a big collector of solo stuff; I don't have to rush out and get it as soon as it comes out, nor do I have to have it all. I have nothing from the 80's, for instance. I used to have Tug Of War, and Flowers In The Dirt on vinyl, but have never got around to replacing them on CD.

Simple really. Second singles off albums that have already been out for a few months tend not to sell very well. Most people that would buy it already have it on the album. It's more a promotional vehicle to sell more albums.
Yes, I know. But second singles like Jenny Wren or The World Tonight made the UK Top 25. This doesn't show up in the entire Top 75! That's terrible.
I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't eat trash... I work out hard everyday and have a healthy life. And I'm proud of it.

Those singles only just made it. And Dance Tonight only made 26. If your first single doesn't do that well, there's not much hope for the second. There's a lot more illegal downloading going on now than even there was 2 years ago, and less and less people buy singles now anyway. They are increasingly, mainly seen as promotion for albums. The million selling single is long gone. And McCartney hasn't had a number one in the UK since 1983, and only 2 top 10's since then. I think you need to stop thinking of him as the megga selling artist that he isn't.
