George Harrison had contributed the line in the middle section "If we ever get out of here."

"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."

"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."

"I'm Joe English and I'm from Glasgow, Scotland." xD

Really? Thats pretty awesome. How did he contribute it though? Did they meet up sometime during the early 70s or was it something George said in the late 60s that made Paul put that part in the song?

Never heard that before. Whoever wrote it hasn't listed any reference either. I could say Ringo wrote Yesterday, and put it in Wiki!

sorry about that BlueMeanie...

Quoted Text
Band on the Run" is the title song from Paul McCartney and Wings' acclaimed Band on the Run album, one of McCartney's most ambitious and best-loved songs. It is comprised of a three-part structure that revolves around the themes of escape and liberation. The song features prominently on every McCartney/Wings best-of compilation and in McCartney's live shows. The song was considered the best evidence that McCartney's muse had not deserted him after The Beatles.

George Harrison had contributed the line in the middle section "If we ever get out of here."

A part of the middle section would later be sampled by Tone Lōc on his 1989 track "Cutting Rhythms", but had to be removed as permission was not given. Eve Of Summer remixed it in 2007, for their album "7".

A cover version of "Band on the Run" was recorded in 2007 by The Foo Fighters as their contribution to the Radio 1. Established 1967 album. This album, commemorating BBC Radio 1's 40th anniversary, features a cover version of a song released in each of the station's 40 years recorded by a modern-day band or solo artist, "Band on the Run" being the song selected to represent 1974.

I saw that. I meant that there there are no source's listed for the 'fact'. Anyone can put anything on Wiki. Don't believe everything you read on there. Though it may of course, be true!

Sounds like something George could have said during the Beatlemania days. Trapped in an armoured car or something.

thats is exactly what happened. he didnt contribute it in the way that he was involved in the writing of the song. It was just something george said during the hellish 1966 far east tour that paul remembered when he came to write the song

I was kidding. But, talking seriously, I was the one who wrote how many weeks at #1 and #2 the Beatles albums spent in the UK and the US in the Wikipedia Beatles discography.

And that's nothing! I made the Rod Stewart, Elton John and Barry Manilow entire discographies in Wikipedia. Am I asewome or what?
