when you listen to both "(Just Like) Starting Over" and "Woman," you hear background voices talking.  

In "(Just Like) Starting Over," you hear it just before the grand finale, after the big drum goes (bom-bom bom-bom-BOM-BOM-BOM-BOM-BOM-BOM -----(Voices talking)

In "Woman," those same voices are right in the beginning intro.

What's up with it, and what are they saying, exactly?

The voice at the beginning of Woman is Lennon saying "For the other half of the sky ...". Don't know what that is in "(Just Like) Starting Over". Sounds like a railway station PA announcer.


I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

Lennon explained  (in his last interview, I think) that the phrase "for the other half of the sky"
is relating to the women - they are that half.

The other half of the sky is a quote from Mao-tse Tung who compared "women" to it...hence it's inclusion at the

beginning of Woman.

So far as starting over is concerned , I agree it's distorted to make it sound like an Airport/ Railway station...
