For those of you who have small children, do you play Beatles music for them while in the car and/or in the house?
My son is four, and I've been playing all sorts of music to him - both old and new (gotta keep them "hip" to their own timeline), but I also have lately been exposing him almost exclusively to just Beatles music. He can sing licks from "Dig A Pony" and "All Together Now," and at this very moment, he's asking me to show him the "Imagine" video. He hums along with the piano riff. I get a kick out of it. |

My four year old son's favorite Beatles song is "Dont Pass me By." He knows most of the words. God bless Ringo. |

Hello, I'm a new member, and had to answer to this one: I have two children (girl 7 years old and boy 6 years old), and since I'm a completely beatle-crazed fan, I made it clear to myself, that I would not brainwash them to hear only Beatles, but I did however play Beatle-music for them in small doses. And my daughter likes some songs to a degree, but she only rarely asks Beatles to be played. But my son became quite obsessed with several songs without me forcing him to listen to them. Actually I was myself asking him not to play some songs over and over again. And he was also watching some songs from video and dvd quite the same way. But of course this is great. Maybe it came to him through my genes(or however it is spelled). |

Welcome to the board Big Pasi. Enjoy your stay.
I don't have any kids, but my cats seem to quite like Ringo! Which is funny, as one of them is called Ringo. |

I'm 16, so no way do I have kids, but I have a feeling that one day my kids will be Beatle lovers! But, I did get my 10 year old cousin into them last summer. I just played him a song, Day Tripper I think, which he liked, and then he asked to hear Yellow Submarine, and it just kept growing from there. I think he likes them a lot, but I don't know about obsessed. Also, my 3 and a half year old niece likes 'em too! My whole room is decorated Beatles, so every time she comes over she asks me "Hey Julia, you wanna listen to the Beatles?" And then I showed her who was who just by first name for now, and now every time she's over she asks me to name each one in every single picture in my room, and god do I have a lot of pictures. One time Kansas City was playing and she's like "Is that Paul?" I'm like "Whoa, yeah, actually you're right!" She's very smart for her age. We watched Help! too, and I think she really liked it. She actually put it together and knew it was the Beatles in the movie. And before she went to bed she's like "Hey whata the Beatles doin?" I'm like "They're probably going to bed now, too." Haha, that's funny. Beatlemaniac in the making. |

My kids of 5 and 3 years old like their songs. I play them I Saw Her Standing There in the car once in a while and they sing along in a strange language called English-more-or-less. |

I think exposing your children to the Beatles can be a great thing, but don't force it on them. My mom tried to do this with her favourite music and I know hate it. My father, on the other hand, wisely waited until I was curious and interested and could discover them for myself (around 12). |

Our 6 year old loves Here Comes the Sun. I don't force her and her little sister to listen to the Beatles. I just play the music for myself and sooner or later she asks me about it and of course I'm pleased to tell her about George and his friends. Hey, so I'm a huge George fan! I can't help myself! |
| I wonder should I call you but I know what you'd do You'd say I'm putting you on But it's no joke it's doing me harm.... Tell me tell me tell me come on tell me the answer You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer.... When I get near you The games begin to drag me down It's alright I'll make you maybe next time around.... I wonder where you are tonight and why I'm by myself... |

Don't worry, WaMoZ. Being a George fan just shows your excellent taste and intelligence. I don't recall seeing your name before, so welcome to the Forums! |

Thanks for the welcome harihead . Yeah, you're right! So when I talk to the kids I'll just say, no its not the Beatles, its George's band. OK? |

No, then they'll only say, "George who?" I think you're much safer calling it Ringo's band. He's got the most memorable name. Yes, this is an example of the sterling advice you can expect from me. Aren't you glad you joined the Forum? PS: Nice avatar. Hi, George! |

Hah! Stick out your tongue at me, will you? That earns you a free gift. George and Paul discuss how much they enjoy being in Ringo's band. |

I think its a fantastic idea to let your kids listen to The Beatles becuase not only is it like the best music ever created but almost every song aims towards peace, love, and understanding making it a win win situation becuase you get to listen to the music you enjoy and your kids wont be listening to the (in my opinion) odious music nowadays

I think, instead of getting the kids to listen to The Beatles, they should be teaching them punctuation. |

Sure why not! My parents exposed me to their music, including the Beatles. Neither one was a fanatic, but both liked thier music. I don't see anything wrong with it at all. Their music is probably better for younger ones nowadays than most of the current music that out, with the blantant sexual and vulgar lyrics. (which I don't have anything against but not for kids!). |

im a kid/teen who has been exposed 2 the beatles my whole life. when john said that the beatles are more famous than jesus he was right 'cause i knew of the beatles way b4 Jesus. P.S. IM CATHOLIC!!! the beatles are the best band ever and their music builds great childhood memories. i remember great family moments that were beatle-induced. THE BEATLES WILL NEVER DIEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! AS PROOF OF THIS, THE BEATLES ARE THE MOST POPULAR BAND AT MY SCHOOL. BEATLES HAVE BRIDGED GENERATIONS, SO IF U ANNA CONNECT WITH UR KIDS, GROW THEM UP WITH A HEATHLY BEATLES CHILDHOOD. IT WAS THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME. REALLY GREAT. P.P.S im listening to blackbird right now!! |
