I can't believe how I've never read about this!!
The Magical Mystery Tour EP charted in the UK (sure!) and reached #2 right behind 'Hello Goodbye' in late-1967!
If the EP would reach #1, the '1' album could include 6 extra tracks, which is, all the tracks from the EP. Or only the A-side of the EP 'was' #2?

An EP, didn't have a recognised A and B side in terms of sales. The name of the EP was what was listed in the EP chart. The chart ceased to exist at the end of November 1967, hence the EP's inclusion in the singles chart. So you're right, there could have been 6 more songs on '1'.

No there wasn't an A or B side or disc.
But I think it would have been reasonable, if it had made number one, to put the title song on ONE.

why nit pick about what was and wasnt on "1"?--all songs referred to are classics and attainable on one album or another
