what's everybody think of Brainwashed? Personally I think it's his best!   My favorites are "Any Road" "Looking for My Life" "Stuck Inside a Cloud" "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" and "Brainwashed"

"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."

"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."

"I'm Joe English and I'm from Glasgow, Scotland." xD

This may supplant 'ATMP' as my fave. Brilliant, poignant, and yet to be fully appreciated, IMO.

Yay! Let's hear it for the Brainwashed love!

I hear you, Klang, but I don't think BW will knock out ATMP for me; I think they are even more awesome when played against each other. In the one, you have the young, fired-up guy in the middle of his Beatles divorce trying to find his artistic and spiritual footing. In the other, you have the guy who's put it all together, calm, content, sure of who he is and his place in the universe. His songs are masterfully constructed and yet so raw; I feel the emotional edge.

Personal faves are "Pisces Fish" (he wrote that for me, you know; I am a Pisces and I also ride a bike, so there!), "Looking for My Life", "Rising Sun", "Marwa Blues", "Stuck Inside a Cloud", "Run So Far" (so poignant!) and "Brainwashed", particularly with the harmonium and chant at the end. What a perfect sense of closure for George's life and career! I love the humor of "P2 Vatican Blues" -- sort of reminds me of when Tom Lehrer skewered the Catholic church in his hilarious "Vatican Rag". And "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" and "Rocking Chair in Hawaii" just ooze atmosphere. There's a lot to love about this album... so I do!

Thanks for asking, JimmyMcCullochFan!

Brainwashed is a very special album to me as it helped me
out of a very dark period in my life, which of course was five
years ago. I agree it was a return to his best work in
a long time. Rising Sun & Pieces Fish are incredible pieces
of music! Any Road has been a wonderful message i've
took on in my life as well! the production that jeff lynne
& Dhani fished on it is terrific as well! this album is
a tresure in my collection!

It's been a Hard Days Night & i've been working like a dog!

EEEEEEE!!!! My first George Album   And a great one too!

agreed - as well as Between the Devil and the Blue sea.

Some great guitar (as always) with the instrumental piece. And the chanting at the end of Brainwashed is incredible. Sounds like Maori I must say. When I first heard Brainwashed (the song) I found it hard to believe it was George, I mean it the way he says the word doesnt sound like him...

Can anyone tell me why does the Buddah (in the inside of the cd) has a half moon on his head?

The Moon reprisents holy days of Buddah , like all religions they are all connected to the stars

Read the latest Story of Albert and find out the truth of The Battle Of Hastings and where it all went wrong for the English and indoor plumbing  .

Ah, thank you kitie!  The reason why it sort of confuzed me is because I thought it to be like the Muslim half moon (with no star) and so that wouldnt make much sense...

Wonderful collection of songs. A fantastic testify of George's late career. A shame that we only knew 12 songs from his latest decade of musical work. Anyway, I really believe this album deserved to be a #1 hit. Maybe it's not a masterpiece, but is a consistent effort by this great guitar player.
Oh! By the way, Stuck Inside a Cloud is my favourite George song ever...

It's a nice album. Nothing special, but nice. A good ending.

I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

I love Marwa Blues i really think it's George's most majestic song by far. Stuck inside a Cloud had me in tears when i first heard it and Devil and the Deep Blue Sea although some say is out of place i feel shows a side of George we fans know and appreciate. GREAT album and one of his best for sure

"I think this music has to be heard and I'm not saying it's going to change your life or anything but it definitely changed mine." - Dhani Harrison

I love that quote from Dhani about "Brainwashed"

"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."

"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."
