I was going to buy one of these and give it to someone for Christmas. This person I'm giving it to already has the John Lennon Collection CD, but I wanted to get one of these because there are Remasters and better quality and more songs. I just don't know which one I should get. I was leaning towards to The Definite Lennon Collection because it has more songs, but the Lennon Legend seems to have a little better quality after previewing them on iTunes Plus and because the Lennon Legend remasters came out this year.

I just wanted which one and if someone could explain to me how Remasters works, like what it means, how much they can clean up music, etc... and how they would compare to the John Lennon Collection CD.

I suppose that, for the casual listener, Lennon Legend CD + DVD is ideal. I found some copies of that one here in Buenos Aires, and looks very nice. (Remember, it must be remastered, right?). I think it's a fantastic introduction to the music and video of Lennon. Just one simple package with his 20 most well-known songs in audio and video.

Now The Definitive Lennon is for the exigent fan. The one who, when is playing Lennon Legend, says 'Where the hell is 'God'?'. 'Where the hell is 'Woman is the black person of the World?'

If you want to introduce someone to the world of John Lennon, I would say: 'Buy the Lennon Legend CD + DVD'. And you'll make that person happy for life. Because, for example, The Red+Blue Albums are a better retrospective of the Beatles career, but don't you think it's kind of heavy for a person who is just starting to know them. I guess in that case, '1' is ideal!

I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't eat trash... I work out hard everyday and have a healthy life. And I'm proud of it.
