I suppose that, for the casual listener, Lennon Legend CD + DVD is ideal. I found some copies of that one here in Buenos Aires, and looks very nice. (Remember, it must be remastered, right?). I think it's a fantastic introduction to the music and video of Lennon. Just one simple package with his 20 most well-known songs in audio and video. Now The Definitive Lennon is for the exigent fan. The one who, when is playing Lennon Legend, says 'Where the hell is 'God'?'. 'Where the hell is 'Woman is the black person of the World?' If you want to introduce someone to the world of John Lennon, I would say: 'Buy the Lennon Legend CD + DVD'. And you'll make that person happy for life. Because, for example, The Red+Blue Albums are a better retrospective of the Beatles career, but don't you think it's kind of heavy for a person who is just starting to know them. I guess in that case, '1' is ideal! |
