so I am listening to Soily from WOA and I am pretty sure that it is the best closing number ever that Macca has done live

"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."

"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."

I agree with you 100%. Wings end their American tour with a Bang!  I prefer Rockshow's version over WOA version hands down.

Rockshow's version and WOA version are the exact same, the film and the album are from the same show.

Soily is a song McCartney should be performing right now today, he needs to give the Beatle heavy setlist a break!

Though Soily may be from the same show, the album and the film were recorded at various venues.

I heard WOA's "Soily" for the first time recently.  (I am a diehard Beatles fan, but my Wings education is currently my ongoing project.)  I admit I was blown away.

When I hear amazing performances like THAT, it makes me more pissed off to hear people make fun of Paul McCartney and Wings!  Grrr!    Paul is a great rocker!

I love the Beatles more than words can express.

Not all of the songs from Rockshow were filmed in Seattle.

If you need anybody to help further your Wings education (specifically the 1974-1977 edition), I'm here

If you think the WOA version is great, listen to the Rockshow version.

They're not the exact same versions. Listen to them back to back and compare and you'll see they are both different performances. They are without a doubt from different shows. The guitar intro riffs are different aswell as Paul's vocal performance. Rockshow the film are mostly performances from the Seattle show and the Los Angeles show and probably from a few other towns. Wings over America album are from shows from the whole tour. The versions of the songs from WOA are really different than the versions from Rockshow. Rockshow is much better in my opinion. I hate WOA as a matter of fact. I think the production is too cleaned up and most of the songs are slowed down.

Is it just me, am I the only one that thinks there's nothing that special about the song?

^ Well. The lyrics made NO sense but it's such a scorching rocker that I don't mind the lyrics making no sense.

LOL, I have to agree.  I love the "sound" of the song, but the lyrics, not so much.     But great melodies are Paul's specialty, and he definitely knows how to rock out.

BTW, thank you for posting the video!   It was great to see.

I love the Beatles more than words can express.

WOA, is excellent and it sounds absolutely fantastic to me!

Girlschool is one of the hardest rocking songs of McCartney's career, and it's definitely Wings hardest rocking song!

McCartney should be performing it live right now!  In fact all those Wings rockers are absolutely screaming to be performed live!

Though I like Soily, I think Junior's Farm would of been a better encore, after all it was a #3 hit!

Also McCartney never gets the true credit he deserves for being a hard rocker!
