What would the The Beatles be without Ringo? A Beginning

I was suprised to open Yahoo and see the following headline"Ringo walks off `Regis' over song flap" so I read on. I for one am glad Ringo left. I mean like giving Ringo 30 extra seconds was going to to wreck the whole show. In fact it made the show worse as they had to quickly cover for the time that he was supposed to be on. Why couldn't they compromise with Ringo? Why couldn't they trim some of Regis and Kelly's MEANINGLESS CHATTER to give a real STAR more time. Regis and Kelly can have their show, what does everyone else think?
"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."
"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."
"I'm Joe English and I'm from Glasgow, Scotland." xD
I think Ringo deserved an extra thirty seconds. HE WAS IN THE BEATLES, for God's sake. Does that mean nothing to you, Regis?!
Of course Regis always seemed more of the type to know "Something" from the Frank Sinatra version.
That's what's wrong with all these shows. They've reduced the airtime to nothing. Geez, in the 70s you could burn up a whole half hour. Now it's two and half minutes and head to commercial.
I hope Ringo does a special with Little Steven or Tom Petty or somebody on XM. Too bad VH1 stopped doing music.

An emphatic AMEN!!! Some of us have more than the attention span of a gnat. Actually, that's probably unfair to gnats. I don't know who decided that you were not allowed to broadcast more than 2 soundbites in an entire half hour show without cutting to commercial, but I wish whoever it was would go to a desert island with no electricity and learn to chill out.
All you've got to do is choose love. That's how I live it now. I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden. I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007
For all I know, Ringo might be a yogi disguised as a drummer! - George Harrison
I find it quite incredible that they would want to keep the time down. Especially when they have no writers at the moment, you'd think they would want the musicians on for longer! Just to fill the gaps they should have asked Ringo to do a half hour set, culminating in a ten minute version of 'It Don't Come Easy', together with 5 false endings.
I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

Go Ringo! If I were Ringo, I wouldn't go back, even though they said they wouldn't mind him coming back. (Not Saying He Will)
they wouldn't mind him coming back? they wouldn't mind?
*abandons all hope for television*

All alone here ... but of two minds. I'm guessing the rules of the game were explained ahead of time, and everyone had the chance to say whether they wanted to play or not. Not having seen the show or read about the brew-ha-ha, if Ringo said "I'll be done in 2'30" , then took 3'30", I can see why there would be a problem. Regis ultimately owes his job to the sponsors, and as far as I can tell people in his shoes have ZERO flexibility where that is concerned.
Usually it's the producer who pulls the plug, or starts up the band, when it's commercial time, not the Regis-type. I've never heard a situation on the radio or TV where the host said "Sod the commercial, you can keep on talking/singing/etc.".
Now I'll crawl off to my ostracization booth. *Whimper*
I love John, I love Paul, And George and Ringo, I love them all!
You know people like to be in control. it's like he wanted an extra 30 and because they COULD have given it to him they didn't because they had the power to say no. I've watched their show and seriously it's 15 minutes of them talking about their day, that's what BLOGS ARE FOR! GOODNESS
Oh, that this too, too solid flesh would melt... Zap! My skin's soaked right through to the skin! "The Beatles will exist without us"
