I bought The Hammer Box set collection last week 21 films for forty quid there are some great films in it " She " inparticular i had'nt seen in years is a brilliant film ? that Ursula Andress is a magnificent looking women Also there's " Straight On Till Morning " with Rita Tushingham which is a very disturbing film had'nt seen that one for years either , thats directed by Peter Collinson who did " The Italian Job " a very spooky film ,anyone remember it ?
They're remaking Rocky Horror???????? NOOOO!!! What a disaster that's gonna be. Give me a break. Tim Curry gave the definitive performance of that character. HOW can anyone top him????? Eeeshh. Hollywood. I'm afraid to think who'll play it.
Not a cult movie, but I thought Cape Fear was an excellent re-make.
I liked it (mostly) and De Niro was excellent (but when isn't he?). What ruined it for me was the end. The boat scene looked so fake - you could almost see the stagehands rocking the set while the others threw buckets of water over them. Things like that which break the illusion really bug me. (if I'm watching a war movie and the german tank turns out to be an US M48 or something I switch off, regardless of how good the rest of the movie is. God is in the details)

my point exactly on re-makes! do we just have to put up with bad re-makes from now on?
It's been a Hard Days Night & i've been working like a dog!
Watched " The Legend Of The Seven Golden Vampires " one of Hammer Horror's last films , it's billed as the first Kung - Fu horror spectacular and is a riot not laughed so much in a longtime It's a great bad film
How about movie dialogue. This is from: The Curse of Count Chocula.
VanBratwurst: "Chocula is a monster. His thirst for chocolate is insatiable. He will roam the entire Earth and, if his evil scheme is carried out, there will be no chocolate for anybody." Amber: "Are you Count Chocula?" Heinrich: "Well, no." Amber: "But you are a vampire, right?" Heinrich: "Yes." Amber: "That is so cool! Can I come back to your castle with you?"
How about this piece I wrote about another bizarre movie: Cannibal! The Musical. Based on the true story of Alan Packer, who was the only man in American history to be jailed for cannibalism. During a trip in Colorado territory he ate his companions to survive. A bizarre theme for a musical which features songs such as “Shpadoinkle Day,” “Hang the Bastard, Hang ‘Em High,” “Let’s Build A Snowman” and “When I Was On Top of You.” Taglines in the promotion of the film included: “Lost without food, they must turn to the ultimate horror…EATING EACH OTHER…and, of course SINGING AND DANCING,” and “All singing! All dancing! All flesh-eating!” In 1874 Packer led an expedition to search for gold and murdered and ate the miners in his camp. This was also the theme of another film: “Devoured: The Legend of Alfred Packer.”

I would love to hear the soundtrack to that movie!
I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

I actually think I might have heard of that one. But it's vague. Man, there are some screwed up movies out there! Anyone remember Death Race 2000 (Sylvester Stallone's first movie?) I saw that as a kid and it really made an impression on me! It's pretty funny though now that I look at it. I like the commentary and really dark humor. They're making a remake of course which will surely suck, but oh well! I'd love to post the Euthanasia clip from youtube here, but I don't think most people here would appreciate the subversive humor. Yeah, it's a bit violent, but in a comical way.
