" Mr Bellamy " for me is one of Paul's best solo compositions and possibly one of his greatest songs ever ? it stunned me when i first heard it on MAF and as grown with each listen , it's got that strange other-wordly qaulity that John's " Strawberry Fields Forever " has ? I'm still not sure what this song is about ? but what i do know is he really as produced something very special with this song , it's a career best in my opinion ?
Mr B is certainly a great song, but greatest song ever...? I dunno. I find House of Wax a great song musically, lyrically and vocally wise [bad grammer here, I know, sorry. ]
As for whats the song about, I suppose we all have different perceptions of it, but I see it as a man who is fed up with everyone telling him what to do and not having his own way and so he wants to end it ... It could also be an idea of the individual vs the govt [but that is a bit far fetched-even for me!-].
Great song though. I love the part where he goes "in a delusionary state..." and then he doubles it with the chorus [hopefully im making sense]

One thing i've wonderd about Mr Bellamy is it two songs fitted together like a " Day In The Life " .How it moves from that mad musical hall type begining into that dreamy almost instrumentle close , indicates it could be two songs pieced together ? My Theory about the song is it's about a house ? and Mr Bellamy (Paul ) is sat on the roof protesting about having to give it up in the divorce settlement ? I thought the men " Steady Lads " Paul mentions in the song were men in " White Coats " come to take Mr Bellamy off to the asylum , but now i think they are removal men , throwing Mr Bellamy (Paul ) out of a much loved house and home ?

Wow! I never thought of it that way... You could be right, now that you mention it. I'll have a ponder on that *puts on Mr Bellamy*

I think I heard somewhere that Mr. Bellamy was Memory's English Tea.
"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."
"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."
