That's exactly my sense of it; for a song to work (for me, anyway), there has to be some kind of development, change, or growth in it as it goes along. I suspect that sitting with a guitar or at a piano while you're writing leads to a deeper emotional engagement with what you're doing than does sitting at a big electonic console. I mean, it gets more personal and you want to say something and say it right.

I have no interest in charts. i never really have.

there is a lot happening actually. there is electronic music now and aleritive rock is becoming popluar, and so is rap (sorry but yuck). i really like some of the alternative rock stuff and some just straight alternative.

Yes, but the alt rock scene is nothing new. Same with the electronic stuff. I don't seem to hear as much rap recently. Could it be that it's had it's day?

You know I'm only 17 and I am forced to listen to today's music. at school I don't mean to be racist but it's either rap or gogo. I'm surrounded by my bling this my cars that.

British women seem to be on a bit of a roll on Billboard .

haha the same thing happens to me. Why do people care how rich or poor we are anyway, cause it sucks to be either, if your rich, everyone wants stuff from you and hates you, and if your poor, you will get that shoved down your mouth like cough syrup. Some how, everyone seemed to think I was rich, but I'm not really, and they got all pissed that I wouldent give them the money that I don't have (something to do with my dads car, he got a good deal on a porsche BUT THAT DOESN't MAKE Me RICH)

Just go with what you like: Paul used to slagged a lot in the seventies because he was considered insufficiently "rock" by the critical cognoscenti. Forget the crowd and go with your own inclinations.
