So what was the best 60's single ? if you exclude The Beatles from the field , ive tried to put together a fair group of artists who had either a big hit or a influencial/classic single out in that decade . And as i could'nt possibly include every great record , ive added a "Other 60's Single " which you might like to share with us .

I'm sorely tempted to throw in something by Screaming Lord Sutch, but I'll go with "What Goes On" by the Velvet Underground. That's probably eccentric enough.
I was playing " In The Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus ) by Zager & Evans today thats a great 60's single. When i saw Be My Baby ,Mairi i started singing it , lovely choice

I'm going to change my vote (I'm not in Florida but I think it's allowed under their rules) to "I Say A Little Prayer" by Aretha Franklin. Amazing record.
Another great idea, DaveRam. You're our entertainment director.
I went with Bob, because I still remember the sarcastic power of "Like A Rolling Stone". I love seeing everyone's "other" suggestions as well.
All you've got to do is choose love. That's how I live it now. I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden. I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007
For all I know, Ringo might be a yogi disguised as a drummer! - George Harrison

It's been a Hard Days Night & i've been working like a dog!
76 was its release but it was on In the Court of the Crimson King which was 69 so thought id just sneak it in even though it wasnt released as a single yet, and also i talk to the wind even though it was never a single.
"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."
"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."
"I'm Joe English and I'm from Glasgow, Scotland." xD
