Some great singles came out of the 50's , it was a very influential period , four young lads in Liverpool were listening and learning

I'll go with Little Richard, although I'm tempted to throw Lonnie Donegan a vote. Chuck Berry probably ought to win, though.

I went with Bill Haley. The guitar solo was sick.

I can't get into 50's music (that's why I don't get involved in the Tony Sheridan stuff.)
Elvis's Heartbreak Hotel stands out, and I don't mind the girl groups. But most of the rest leaves me cold.

i've gone with Bill Haley - Rock around the clock, it is a classic record & kick-started the whole
rock & roll scene i think.   i'm a huge fan of chuck berry though, he was an amazing song-writer!

It's been a Hard Days Night & i've been working like a dog!

How about Elvis's Hound Dog, All Shook Up or Jailhouse Rock?

Johnny B Goode
Tutti Frutti
Kansas City
There Goes My Baby
La Bamba
Wake Up Little Suzie
Mack the Knife
Shake Rattle and Roll

So many more...Like someone else said this is the music that influenced The Beatles!

Out of the the listed though, it ws a toss up between Heartbreak Hotel and Peggy Sue...I will go with Peggy Sue.  Love it!

All are great choices, Heather.  My favorite on that list is Mack The Knife.
