Yes. DM's is a very highbrow place.

All you've got to do is choose love.  That's how I live it now.  I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden.  I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007

For all I know, Ringo might be a yogi disguised as a drummer! - George Harrison

When I was in 6th grade, I was playing with scissors and cut off half of my eye brow, so I had to find an eyebrow pencil and draw it in until it grew back. When my "friends" at school found out, they laughed. A lot. It was horrible.

I always see alot of girls who shave off their eyebrows and then draw them in.  And I always wonder what they might look like when they wake up in the morning, what their boyfriends (or girlfriends...whatever floats your boat!) roll over and look at someone with no eyebrows

Sorry if I offended anyone here who does that.

Cholos do that to look tough. It's part of the gang mentality thing. Other than that, I never see it.

They prevent sweat dropping from your head into your eyes. It's true.

I'm pretty sure the main thing is expression. Humans (like other primates) are alone in having two forward facing eyes, and are much more reliant on facial expressions to express moods than other animals. Eyebrows have evolved due to natural selection. ( ancestors that could best express themselves were more likely to survive.)
Pretty much the same for the hair on our heads - especially women. It sends out signals that the woman is healthy, fertile (and if worn the right way:available.) This is why women spend so much time and money on it, and why it is covered or chopped when women (or the men that control them) want to supress their sexuality.

An interesting thread!
And since we're talking physical attributes, has anyone noticed how much George's teeth improved in the sixties?

Chula's. Cholo would be a guy   But yes your right (I live in Ca so I see it alot).  Then again, I have seen alot of women in their 50's - 60's that do it too.  Maybe it was the thing when they were younger?  I know people who have their eyebrows and eyeliner tattooed. OUCH!

And I also was under the impression the eyebrows were to keep sweat out of the eyes, like eyelashes keep debris out.

And yes George must have gotten his teeth fixed somewhere along the line.

i cant find the pic online, but his eyebrow issue is quite obvious in the picture on page 6 in the little booklet thing inside the "past masters, volume one" CD. i know, its quite random, but i found it the other day and instantly though of this thread. ( and look at Georges hairline! its uh.... very interesting, and kind of........... jagged...EEK!)

if you dont have the CD, then mabe one of you people who can actually use their computers correctly can find it!
