^ Commendable, Sgt. Pepper, having two jobs while in college.
Thanks, some weeks I don't know how I got through it. Specially this week, when I had a test every day I went to school and had to go straight from school to work almost everyday. But I like it cause the weeks fly by.

Music swiss army knife...that is i have carved a living by gigging, teaching, sound engineering, putting on gigs. Sometimes it may be island records or it may just be the local boozer, Soul 2 Soul or a local death metal band. The pennys are poor though but the objective is good. Summer gets better but I also occasionally work in a childrens home for children with special needs which helps and rewarding. I once was an archiver for British Aerospace and have ben an insurance man, gardener, waiter, student, porter, linen boy, window cleaner and paperboy in my time. Music always won in the end though.
I have just had an interview with my local theatre about a duty manager/bookings/publicity job (Which I have been doing and sound engineering for a year anyway on poor wages) and I am again weighing up how much time it may detract from my music and even if i want to do it. The thing is, it is council owned and there lies many frustrations...Common sense, money saving, Ethos, Synergie and team are words that seem to elude them. One thing is clear, at least the place looks to remain open which was my main objective. People power!
This is interesting! You guys have some pretty cool jobs. I'd love a career change but I'm not suited for anything else! I guess having summers off is pretty cool though.
I have been a technical writer and sometime fiction writer for, oh, decades. Since my main client moved operations to India, I've been trying to make a go of the fiction and science writing-- a bit more interesting than telecommuncations and computers to me. I'm "freelance" now which for me is a fancy word for unemployed. I have to find a new client base but have I been looking? No! So far have been busy finishing my latest book and not looking for a job. Keep your fingers crossed that I'll get a bestseller someday! It only takes one!
All you've got to do is choose love. That's how I live it now. I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden. I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007

You guys all have such interesting jobs...I work for the State of California. I am the taxman (or I guess taxwoman!). I was going to school to be a nurse (to make a long story short the nurse programs in Ca are mess), so while I continue to apply for the nurse programs I am taking accounting courses so that I can move up within the job I am at now.
What I really need to do is find a rich man, marry him, get knocked up, get a divorce and live happily ever after

It's been a Hard Days Night & i've been working like a dog!
Help! American idiot. What's a Postie -- postal worker?
Good to see other writers on the board. I suppose it's not surprising that so many of us like to write, as we're on a message board. *forms a group hug*
