Well............still off the subject a bit...........I want a lottery in Arkansas sooooo bad!!!! It's gonna be on the November voting ticket. But see, I'm in what they call the "Bible Belt" and you got all these Baptists, (sorry if any of you are that), who are totally against gambling and lotteries. But hey.........then they pack up and go to Tunica and gamble where no one will see them.............And drink a beer in back of their house where no one can see.........not like me, a Catholic, who doesn't really give a s&*t what people think...........

It's not just the bible belt! Out on Long Island you can't buy it on Sunday and you can only get alcohol in a liquor store. I remember the last time I was there we were running around Saturday night before the liquor stores closed so we could have wine with dinner! It was so funny because now I'm used to California where you can go into Ralphs (grocery store) at all hours of the day or night and get whatever you want! It was like going back in time. I love it back there though. Different feel to it because of things like that.

My great aunt used to have a house in Mattituck way at the end of the island. Are you out that way? I grew up in Westchester, but live far away now. You can buy likker here on Sunday's, but you have to be wearing your gun on the outside.
I love John, I love Paul, And George and Ringo, I love them all!
Yes! I was in NJ last summer visiting family and I went into a grocery store to buy some beer...walked up and down every dang isle... finally realized that you cannot but alcohol in there!! WTH!!!! Had to go to a liquor store... Strange!! I think they did sell alcohol on Sunday though (I could be wrong).
I know what you mean though, it has a different feel, and I like it.

I grew up in Lake Ronkonkoma. Right in the middle! (Still Suffolk County) We used to go out to Montauk Point all the time though. Which is way at one of the ends. I love how everything back there is either named after Native American tribes (like all my old schools) or things like: Hicksville or Amityville or Old Beth Page. Our Lake even has a scary legend to go with it! It's got character that place. I miss it!
Apparently, the DVD has been delayed. You just knew it would happen.
^^^^^^The DVD has been delayed????? What happened ol' great BlueMeanie??? I was counting the days down to next Tuesday. Shed some light, dude.............

And by a weird coincidence:
Documentary Chronicling Cirque du Soliel's Beatles Show “Love" Debuts
All Together Now, a documentary about the making of the Beatles and Cirque du Soleil's Las Vegas show LOVE, made its U.S. debut Monday, opening the sixth annual Silverdocs film festival. As the sound of “Oompah, oompah, stick it up your jumper!" blasted in 5.1 stereo, heads bobbed to the nonsensical directive coursing through the AFI's Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Hearing the Beatles' music pumped through the AFI Silver's state-of-the-art surround-sound system would have been enough to keep people entertained, but All Together Now director Adrian Wills also provides lovely visuals and many insightful interviews with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono (the widows of George Harrison and John Lennon, respectively).
“It's not just a Beatles movie -- it's a Beatles and Cirque movie," Wills said. “But you do get exchanges with the Beatles [that you can't see anywhere else]." A lot of that openness came from the access Wills was granted by Cirque du Soleil, which he has worked with as a documentarian for seven years. “We got a lot of freedom," Wills said. “Nobody was policing us. ... I was going in with people I've worked with before, and because of that we were able to get material nobody thought we could get."
LOVE began with an idea Harrison shared with Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, and All Together Now pays tribute to the late guitarist's vision. But it also spotlights the immense contribution of Fab Four producer George Martin, who along with his son Giles, remixed and edited 28 Beatles songs for LOVE.
“This show is George Martin's artistic testimony, in a way," said LOVE director Dominic Champagne. “And that's a great contribution of this movie. It's the soul of the show, but you can't see that onstage. But you see it a lot in the movie."
After three years of negotiations and with a budget of $180 million, director Dominic Champagne has to wrangle an international cast and crew of 500, and an approvals process that includes the founders of Cirque, the Beatles holding company, Apple Corps Ltd., Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison's widow Olivia, and Yoko Ono-one wonders how he didn't have a nervous breakdown.
It's all eventually smoothed over by the magic of the Beatles' brilliant music, masterfully re-imagined by music director and ex-Beatles' producer, the ever-charming Sir George Martin. A peek at a fascinating and nerve-racking creative process as seen on every imaginable level, with fabulous archival footage and spectacular performances-this is one behind-the-scenes story you won't want to miss.
On June 24, 2008 Apple Corps Ltd./Cirque du Soleil will release the feature-length documentary All Together Now on DVD, which will be marketed and distributed worldwide by EMI Music.
^^^^^^Oh well, I guess I have to wait till Fall. Man, that makes me mad. I was looking forward to something new from "the Boys" this summer............

^^^^^^OFF SUBJECT ALERT AGAIN.............Yes, it's true. Here in Arkansas NO LIQUOR SALES on Sunday...........ever!!!! And we just recently got passed here several years ago so the restaurants can sell liquor on Sunday. And.........to make it even "crazier" down here, some counties are "dry"...........no liquor stores or selling anything related. So I live in Pulaski county, and it's "wet", but drive up the interstate a few miles to Faulkner county and it's "dry as a bone". Crazy crap down here in the "Bible Belt"...And the only "gaming" we have here in Arkansas are the horse races in the spring. And we finally got bingo back. .................Now............back to the main subject of this thread...............

That's too bad about the delay of the DVD but I guess it is not a real big surprise...
Off subject again...sorry! But that is so weird to me about not being able to by alcohol on certain days! I heard somewhere in Texas they wouldnt even sell laundry detergent on Sundays because it is suppossed to be a day of rest.....
