Quoted from Geoff
^^^ "Maybe I'm Amazed" is one of Paul's half dozen best solo songs, direct and "honest" in John's sense of the word in a way most of his solo output is not. It's all about Linda, of course. The best version is on McCartney, I think.

I absolutely agree with this comment. And about - " on McCartney ", too.

I think that some of his songs are just long.
I just don't like that some are bits songs that are put together like and Band on the Run.

Back to the original question..... my vote would have to go to We All Stand Together. To think excluding Mull of Kintyre it is Paul's second best selling post Beatles single in the UK.

Whilst had it not been for two of the biggest ever selling singles in UK chart history (Band Aid - Do They Know Its Xmas & Wham! - Last Christmas/Everything She Wants) it would have been the Christmas #1 of 1984.

Musically it is so WTF. I'm sorry but no way could John have come up with something as demented, yet brilliant. A track which your head tells you it is an embarrassment. Yet your heart knows it is a work of Godlike genius, that you know you'll start singing when you are drunk.
